Black History Spotlight: Ruby Bridges

Welcome to the Black History Spotlight, where I shine a lot on some of the amazing people and important eras that have helped make African American history so rich! From slavery to Jim Crow to the Civil Rights Movement, Black people have continually fought and overcome the seemingly-insurmountable obstacles of racism; thus, they deserve to be celebrated! Black History Month is a wonderful time to do just that, but anytime is a good time for learning, right?

Today, I'm highlight the bravery of Ruby Bridges, the first Black child to integrate an elementary school. At just six years old, Ruby became an icon and a hero. This video is designed to give a quick summary of her life, so please feel free to continue learning about this important life once its over.
