Steve Williams Sunday, May 28th 2017 at 10:23AM

If you was paying any attention to this report, you would have saw the way The US Supreme Court rules in that North Carolina Gerrymandered map based on Race and why.

Now go back and review this report. That was the main point of this topic.

I wanted to know specifically what opinion Neil Gorsuch gave. I know now Ron, do you? It was not included in this report.

Steve Williams Sunday, May 28th 2017 at 11:09AM

KAGAN, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which THOMAS, GINSBURG, BREYER, and SOTOMAYOR, JJ., joined. THOMAS, J., filed a concurring opinion. ALITO, J., filed an opinion concurring in the judgment in part and dissenting in part, in which ROBERTS, C. J., and KENNEDY, J., joined. GORSUCH, J., took no part in the consideration or decision of the case.

As you already know if you saw this report none of the Republican or Democratic appointment Supreme Court judges was mentioned about the way., only the score.

Know Steven, what was the score?

Steve Williams Sunday, May 28th 2017 at 11:58AM

The score was 8 agreeing in part and 3 dissenting in part. Nothing was said about Gorsuch.

YOUR WORDS:

Q. How did each of the justices vote?
A. Did you watch this report Stephen?

Sad.

Where in this blog that I called you Stephen?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, May 28th 2017 at 5:16PM

Since this topic have drawn up some interest today, I think that my blogger community can use some good news.

A few days ago, The US Supreme Court ruled that North Carolina, the same state Harry lives in, The Republican lawmakers unlawfully disenfranchised specifically Black votes when gerrymandering their congressional district lines.

This is the practice of drawing congressional or state legislative lines in a very strategic way strategic way to favor for a particular candidate or party. The is nothing new, Republicans unlawfully took race into account when creating two majority Black congressional districts in 2011 after the the 2010 census and the court ruled unanimously on unconstitutional of one of the districts. Now this other district had a 5-3 ruling with three conservatives dissenting.

I believe this is where we left off and we will pick-up this discussion, Steven.

Steve Williams Monday, May 29th 2017 at 1:25AM

Go ahead and pick it up Ronnie. The only thing I wanted to know was how each of the justices voted.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, May 29th 2017 at 11:29AM

Your Question: The only thing I wanted to know was how each of the justices voted. Sorry but that information was not covered in this report but I am sure that you can fine this information out real fast

right of the top of my head tells me with a 5 to 3 vote, your boy Justice Neil Gorsuch, who had not yet joined the court when arguments in the case were heard in December, did not participate in the ruling.

Steve Williams Monday, May 29th 2017 at 6:00PM

You finally caught that. Good for you Ron.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, May 29th 2017 at 6:24PM

Thank You very much.
