As William Barr diminishes the findings of the inspector general that the initiation of the Russia probe was not politically motivated, the Steele Dossier, which the IG stated did not influence the probe’s launch, has come back into the spotlight. Fusion GPS co-founders Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch, whose company commissioned the Steele dossier, discuss the reporting of Christopher Steele in that dossier, and their new book, ‘Crime in Progress: Inside the Steele Dossier and the Fusion GPS Investigation.

What the Steele dossier said vs. what the Mueller report said. What the Steele dossier said vs. what the Mueller report said | Fact Checker The Steele dossier is a series of memos written by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. Steele was hired by a research firm called Fusion GPS, which was hired by the Clinton campaign and the DNC during the 2016 presidential election. The dossier was intended to be raw, unverified intelligence, but its contents were widely distributed when Buzzfeed News published a version of it in 2017. Key elements appeared to be in doubt. Now that a redacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report is out, which, if any, of its claims have been verified?

Steve, are you saying this is a LIE?: "As William Barr diminishes the findings of the inspector general that the initiation of the Russia probe was not politically motivated, the Steele Dossier, which the IG stated did not influence the probe’s launch, has come back into the spotlight."

Ron, listen to me carefully. The IG did not state that the Steele dossier did not influence the probe’s launch.

Here's what was reported about what the IG reported: The decision to open the probe, which was dubbed “Crossfire Hurricane” within the FBI was made in “compliance with Department and FBI policies, and we did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced” the decision to launch the investigation, the report said. Steve, Infamous Christopher Steele dossier didn’t play a role in the launch of the probe. While the widely unverified dossier put together by former British spy Christopher Steele has been used as a boogeyman of the right to propel “deep state” conspiracies about the launch of the Russia probe, the DOJ IG report finds that the dossier — with salacious claims about President Trump and Russia — was not even part of the initial opening of the investigation. Steve, Listen to me!!! What you are doing is spreading a well known, debunked right wing talking point. If you think that I am not right, just copy these words " Infamous Christopher Steele dossier didn’t play a role in the launch of the probe " and paste those words in your search engine and you will find a few more sources to support my claim. It is all right in front of you.
