We don't call it your stupid name Ron. We call it an 80% receiver. You can only machine it into a functional receiver for your own use. You can't sell it or give it to anyone else. The reciever is the frame of the gun and the part that does or doesn't have a serial number, as the case may be. You take the receiver and add the barrel, stock, bolt etc. to make your AR-15 just the way you want. That's why the AR is the most popular gun in America Ron. The receiver isn't a high ticket item, even a regular receiver. So in California if you want to buy a serialized receiver from somewhere outside of California, federal law requires it be shipped to an FFL holder in California. That means a gun dealer and the dealers don't want to bother with such a small transaction. They make money selling whole guns. So the FOLKS in California including my murdered son and his friends were forced to build their AR's with 80% receivers that they machined and finished themselves. There is nothing nefarious about a !!!GHOST GUN!!! except it's scary name.

The reason why I put those links in front of your face, is because those links clearly backs up the statement when President Biden referred to "THE GHOST GUN as a kit you can buy over the internet.
