Top general responds to reports he feared Trump would use military after losing America's top general on Wednesday spoke publicly for the first time about whether he feared then-President Donald Trump would try to involve the military in the aftermath of the 2020 election, as reported in a newly-released book. While Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley, at a rare Pentagon news conference, declined to comment on specific claims made in the book, he and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Wednesday were emphatic that the military is and ought to remain a strictly "apolitical" institution. "I, the other members of the Joint Chiefs, and all of us in uniform, we take an oath, an oath to a document, an oath to the Constitution of the United States, and not one time do we violate that," Milley told reporters asking about the book excerpts. "The entire time, from time of commissioning to today, I can say with certainty that every one of us maintained our oath of allegiance to that document, the Constitution, everything that's contained within it," he said, referring to the Joint Chiefs. "I want you to know, and I want everyone to know, I want America to know, that the United States military is an apolitical institution -- we were then, we are now -- and our oath is to the Constitution, not to any individual at all," he said. "And the military did not and will not and should not ever get involved in domestic politics. We don't arbitrate elections. That's the job of the judiciary and the legislature and the American people. It is not the job of the U.S. military. We stayed out of politics, we're an apolitical institution." I AM TALKING ABOUT YOUR WORDS, "as reported in a newly-released book." Phillip Rucker and Carol Loenig LIED about what General Mark Milley said. That's why General Lloyd Austin REITERATED, "General Milley does not have a political bone in his body." Does that sound like someone who would rant about Trump being a Nazi? To me it does not, but them I'm a little smarter than you Ron.

Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, feared former president Donald Trump would attempt a coup Steve. The military did not, and will not, and should not ever get involved in domestic politics,” Milley said, speaking at a Pentagon news conference. “We don’t arbitrate elections. That’s the job of the judiciary and the legislature and the American people. It is not the job of the U.S. military. We stayed out of politics. We’re an apolitical institution.” I’ve read Mao Zedong. I’ve read Karl Marx. I’ve read Lenin. That doesn’t make me a communist,” Milley told the House Armed Services Committee last month. “So what is wrong with understanding … the country which we are here to defend?” Trump wanted the allegiance of that General And Trump got an answer he did not like “NO”!

"We don’t arbitrate elections." That means that if Trump had invoked the Insurrection Act, Milley would have followed orders. There was no talk of a "coup." Rucker and Leonnig's book is a work of fiction and you are a sucker to believe it Ron.

YOUR WORDS: "We don’t arbitrate elections." That means that if Trump had invoked the Insurrection Act, Milley would have followed orders. NO Steve, take a good at these words: The military oath taken at the time of induction into the military is as follows: "I,____________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the The military oath taken at the time of induction into the military is as follows: Do you know what I'm showing you, Steve?

The only way to keep that oath Ron, is to follow the commander-in-chief's orders no matter what. To put one's own judgement over Trump would have been sedition.

I see that you have seen this line: “I will obey the orders of the President of the United States...”, but the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) Article 90 states that military personnel needs to obey the "lawful orders of his/her superior. Since you don't have a clue what I am talking about, I will keep it simple, The duty and obligation to obey lawful orders creates no grey area for discussion, The Orders Has to a lawful orders and by the way Steve, why would Trump give a “unlawful orders” to his Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff anyway?

Trump never issued any controversial military order, just like every other modern President before him. But we know that we've always had a President that could execute nuclear orders and we've always accepted that reality. Ron, only now have you and the other would be seditionists arisen.

No unlawful order was ever contemplated. P.S. Democracy is Dead. You killed it Ron when you rigged the election with out-of-control ballot mailing.

If Trump did give that “UNLAWFUL ORDER," will it be carried out by the military and that’s what this blog is all about. I for one don’t have that power to kill democracy but together we can save democracy.

Do you consider invoking the Insurrection Act an unlawful order Ron? It's there for a purpose and many of us MAGA would have cheered it's order.

Trump should have seized all the elections equipment. Then Arizona would not have the power it does right now, that enables them withholding the routers.

Maricopa County Arizona is telling you and the recount committee, it is over and they are cutting their cost. That looks like the Republicans that hired this group is telling the other Republican group they hired due to your failure to produce, they boss cutting cost because of the credibility issues. Who going to believe them now, 8 months after the election, would you STEVE?
