Former secretary of state and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Colin Powell, died Monday morning due to complications from COVID-19, his family said in a statement.

"He was fully vaccinated. We want to thank the medical staff at Walter Reed National Medical Center for their caring treatment," the family said. "We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American."

Powell was 84 years old.

Peggy Cifrino, Colin Powell’s longtime spokesperson, confirmed to ABC News that Powell was successfully being treated for a few years for multiple myeloma, a cancer of blood cells, that compromises the immune system. She also confirmed that Powell was scheduled to soon receive his third COVID booster shot and that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

That is correct Steve, this is my post. It also mention that his immune system was compromised as well due to previous illnesses. Steve how old was calling Paul?

Steve cOVID-19 was a contributing factor to the death of Colin Powell but not the sole reason.

So now Steve, you must have that gift of knowing all about the subject by the title, with out reading the story. Don’t you understand that it was only a matter of time, with Colin Powell immune issues anyway.

This man he recently had a bout with cancer and he was in recovery when he got it.

Right the story and you too will have a better understanding of these vents.

I would not list it as a COVID death. It shouldn't be added to the 700,000. He died of old age. Folks get old, they get sick and die. Old age is the primary cause.
