Former Prosecutor: Not Justice Because Ahmaud Arbery Is Not Here To Celebrate Thanksgiving
The conviction of three White Georgia men, who chased down a Black man--Ahmaud Arbery--in their pickup trucks in what has been described as a modern-day lynching, occurred after what Joy Reid calls one of the most important trials in recent American history. Travis McMichael, 35, was found guilty on all counts, and Greg McMichael, 65, was found guilty on eight after they shot and killed Arbery, a 25-year-old unarmed Black man, while he was on a run in a neighborhood outside of Brunswick.
