Trump lashes out after N.Y. judge rules he must testify under oath

Will or won’t he take the fifth?
That is the question Donald Trump is expected to face after a New York judge ordered the former president and his two children to testify within 21 days in a long-running state civil investigation into his business practices.
The twice-impeached president lashed out at the decision on Thursday and slammed the probe into his finances as an “unconstitutional Witch Hunt.”
“The people will not allow this travesty of justice to happen,” Trump wrote in a rambling email statement.
Trump’s legal team will have to decide if their client should invoke the Fifth Amendment, which is his legal right to avoid self-incrimination in the state’s investigation or risk hurting his case in the separate looming criminal probe run by the Manhattan district attorney’s office.
The embattled ex-president appears to be deeply rattled by the emphatic ruling of Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron.
“Remember, I can’t get a fair hearing in New York because of the hatred of me by Judges and the judiciary,” he added in the statement late Thursday. “It is not possible!”
