(Bloomberg) -- President Joe Biden hosted former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama for the unveiling of their official portraits at the White House, calling them “two dear friends, and two great Americans.”
“Barack and Michelle, welcome home,” Biden said Wednesday at a boisterous event in the White House’s East Room.
“It’s great to be back,” Obama said later, adding that Biden became “a true partner and a true friend” as his vice president.
The ceremony was partly a celebration of the Obamas’ historic role as the first Black family to reside in the White House and partly a reunion for the former running mates -- and hundreds of staffers who served across both administrations.
Biden called the portraits “a reminder for all here and now, and for those that come to power, that hope and change matters.”
It's cynical and divisive Ron. One more provocation from Biden to America. Like the "MAGA Republican" "semi-fascist" comments at the nation's birthplace. Like the b-itch's IRA "celebration" today as inflation hits a sustained new high.
I'm so glad I could satisfy you "tonight", Ron. I call these words, the BIGGEST LIE:
"Joe, it is now America's good fortune to have you as President. You have guided us through some perilous times...Thanks to your decency and thanks to your strength...the country is better off than when you took office, and we should all be grateful for that, so thank you so much."

Where is the cynical and divisive part, I don’t see the LIES in these words because this country has been through some perilous times after TRUMP and the country is now looking better under Biden, then the country ever did under Trump and that is a FACT.
Perilous times yes Ron, and they are CAUSED by Biden. That is the FACT. For example, TWO MILLION illegal immigrants in 2022 so far and our nation is at far more risk from that than from so-called "DOMESTIC terrorism. 200,000 unvetted Afghanis, THAT is perilous, Inflation through the roof. THAT IS PERILOUS. Joe Biden hasn't seen us SAFELY through a god damned thing!
Biden brought this country through the many LIES Trump told you Steve and you still believe to this very day still. This was one of the first LIES Trump told you.
The most telling lie: It didn't rain on his inauguration Trump began his presidency by lying about the weather.
It rained during Trump's inaugural address. Then, at a celebratory ball later that day, Trump told the crowd that the rain "just never came" until he finished talking and went inside, at which point "it poured."
This was the first lie of Trump's presidency. Like his lies that same week about his inauguration crowd, it hinted at what would come next. The President would say things that we could see with our own eyes were not true. And he would often do this brazen lying for no apparent strategic reason.
I am sure you remember the lie Trump told about having The coronavirus was under control. This was more like a family of lies than a single lie. But each one -- the lie that the virus was equivalent to the flu; the lie that the situation was "totally under control"; the lie that the virus was "disappearing" -- suggested to Americans that they didn't have to change much about their usual behavior.
A year into the crisis, more than 386,000 Americans have died from the virus. Steve that LIE is GONE NOW.

At a White House event in 2019, Trump grossly distorted a 2013 quote from Rep. Ilhan Omar to try to get his supporters to believe that the Minnesota Democrat had expressed support for the terrorist group al Qaeda.
Trump went on to deliver additional bigoted attacks against Omar in the following months. But it's hard to imagine a more vile lie for the President to tell about a Muslim official -- who had already been getting death threats -- than a smear that makes her sound pro-terrorist.

He braved exposure and he caught COVID as a result, when seniors like our own Harry were tragic victims of the deadly virus, thousand upon thousands, before any vaccination (one of Trump's many gifts to America) had come to our rescue. Under Biden, Americans are better off in other ways, too. The Center on Poverty & Social Policy at Columbia University reports that the poverty rate, which reached 16.1 percent in December 2020, fell sharply under Biden to 14.1 percent by May 2022. It’s the same story on health care coverage: The Department of Health and Human Services reported that from late 2020 to early 2022, the percentage of uninsured Americans fell from 14.5 percent to 11.8 percent among adults (ages 18 to 64) and from 6.4 percent to 3.7 percent among children, both record lows.

- People with jobs are employed. - People who are jobless, looking for a job, and available for work are unemployed. - The labor force is made up of the employed and the unemployed. - People who are neither employed nor unemployed are not in the labor force.
How can you be neither employed nor unemployed? A rational person would think that you had to be one or the other. According to the BLS definition… long-term unemployed people are defined out of existence and therefore are neither employed nor unemployed. They are roughly 40% of the population not participating in the labor force.
