What Overturning Roe v. Wade could Mean for Most Vulnerable Birmingham Times - By Ben Jealous The political and legal movement to criminalize abortion in the U.S. is on the brink of its biggest victory in 50 years. Most at risk are those who are already among the most vulnerable in our country: Black and brown women and LGBTQ people who will be denied access to potentially lifesaving health care. On Dec. 1, the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in the case of a Mississippi abortion ban. That law was written by a right-wing legal group. It was part of a long-term strategy to get the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that recognized that pregnant people have a constitutional right to make decisions about whether or not to terminate a pregnancy. READ MORE: What Overturning Roe v. The most vulnerable are the little babies you can no longer slaughter at will.

Tell me something Steve, would you want your 10-year girl to carry and give birth to your brother's child? Would you want your wife to die because of complications with the fetus, when the technology exists to save your wife's life by giving her an abortion? I want you to answer each of those questions Steve?

Women (and men) will always insist on killing the unborn. It shouldn't be done without a good reason Ron. It shouldn't be done like my wife did, because she was irresponsible about preventing pregnancy, and didn't want to give up drugs to save the life of her unborn baby. And believe me, America is full of this sort of woman. It's disgraceful how little they (and you) value life.

Ok!!! We will try this again: 1. Tell me something Steve, would you want your 10-year girl to carry and give birth to your brother's child? Let’s start with this question first, can you handle that?

I don't have a 10 year-old girl Ron. I did have a wife that had multiple abortions, her whole life long, simply because she was lazy. In most cases, maybe all cases, a 10 year-old girl is too young to safely have a baby. So in this case, most likely an abortion would be justified to save the life of the mother.

I agree with you Steve, a 10-year-old girl would most likely to have an abortion of your brother's child, would be justified to save the life of the mother. Now to my second question and by the way Steve and I appreciate the dialog. Providing you had a loving wife, who love you. MY QUESTION: Would you want your wife to die because of complications with the fetus, when the technology exists to save your wife's life by giving her an abortion?

Why does it need to be personal Ron? No woman should die of complications, but if the baby would survive, the mother could make a noble sacrifice. It would be her choice.

Then it should be the woman’s choice anyway and that choice should stay between her and her doctor and NOT the state or The U. S. Government, do you understand that?

Abortion is governed by State law now Ron. You will need to pass a law in the U.S. Congress to change the situation. I don't approve of PA State law on abortion, but I think we will be able to make a better law soon. I've held a 5 month-old aborted baby in my hands Ron. 23 weeks is too long to allow for elective abortions.

Steve this is what Roe V Wade was about. The court divided pregnancy into three trimesters, and declared that the choice to end a pregnancy in the first trimester was solely up to the woman. In the second trimester, the government could regulate abortion, although not ban it, in order to protect the mother’s health. In the third trimester, the state could prohibit abortion to protect a fetus that could survive on its own outside the womb, except when a woman’s health was in danger.

Roe v. Wade was never correct Ron. It was ill-founded. There is no U.S. Constitutional protection for abortion.

The court held in 1973 that a woman’s right to an abortion was implicit in the right to privacy protected by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. Roe v. Wade https://www.history.com/topics/womens-righ... You Stand Corrected, there is U.S. Constitutional protection for abortion.

Wrong Ron, that decision was overturned because it was wrong. It was wrong, because there is NO Constitutional right to abortion.

Ron, you can't make a Constitutional "right" magically appear in 1973 by judicial fiat, and magically disappear in 2022 by judicial fiat. A Constitutional right is immutable, except according to the Constitutional provisions for amending the Constitution. The Supreme Court in 1973 subverted the legislative due process, precisely because the objective of legalized murder of the unborn could not be achieved legislatively, and could not in the intervening 50 years, and to this day CANNOT PASS THE CONGRESS.

IF YOU WOULD HAVE CLICKED ON THE LINE, YOU WOULD HAVE READ THIS: Roe v. Wade was a landmark legal decision issued on January 22, 1973, in which the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a Texas statute banning abortion, effectively legalizing the procedure across the United States. The court held that a woman’s right to an abortion was implicit in the right to privacy protected by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. Steve, do you know when The 14th Amendment to the Constitution changed?

That's the 5th amendment not the 14th but regardless, there still is nothing about a "right to privacy" Ron.

You are correct Steve, this is The fifth amendment that also supports the rape for woman to have an abortion. ROE V. WADE What is the 14th Amendment and How is It Connected to Abortion Rights, Roe v. Wade? The 14th Amendment was passed by Congress in 1866 and ratified in 1868 https://www.nbcchicago.com/tag/roe-v-wade/ ROE V. WADE
