You know, I keep asking myself the question, why are we as a people still having many of the same problems that we faced prior to Civil Rights? Why is it that we are still debating the same issues? Why are we still fighting to be heard? Why do we feel that White people have something that we don't?
It seems to me that there is a generational habit of non-verbal beliefs that are literally destroying our race of people here in America. I feel that while integration helped in making some progress of moving towards equality, it also did harm to the mindset of our people.
You see as long as we want or desire what whites have, instead of desiring equality and the freedom to be successful and to take advantage of the free enterprise system, all we are doing is teaching our children that white is better.
In Atlanta there are many African Americans living in 300k & up beautiful homes in predominately black communities. However, what I witness are many of them not putting the money back in their communities. Instead, they shop in Buckhead, dine in Buckhead (Considered the white "ultra rich" side of Atl), prefer that their children go to schools in more white communities and meanwhile, the neighborhoods wth the beatuiful homes they live in are dying, because the money is not being spent there.
I believe we speak with our actions louder than with words and what I'm seeing is that many African Americans are buying into the "White is Better" mindset.
