The time is needed for digestion, planning and application. Not ... (532 hits)

Actually, I was simply tying to post to the "educator" that wrote "her and her husband paid ..." should be "she and her husband" -- b/c if her husband didn't participate, "her" still did. (Rule of thumb: Every statement needs to be able to stand alone.)

But since this site forced me to sign-up as a member, I might as well go w/it...

In my opinion, there are two main reasons why the whole world is focusing on why we can't seem to get our sh*t together as a whole. First is education. And I don't mean schooling. You may have noticed in my educational experience it lists "High School Diploma" -- that's only b/c they didn't have a selection for 6th Grade level. But that's not what I'm talking about here. I mean simple, 1t Grade English for the most part. Even college-educated blacks wll usally make simple mistakes, like not adding the "s" after a singular subject, "she know when to ..." instead of "she knows ...". It amazes me that after 400+ years in this country where most ONLY speak English, WE still struggle w/sh*t that other immigrants get within the first five years of speaking English as a second or third language.

Secondly, I am sooooo sick of this "Jebus will save us" crap -- all this does is keep YOU dependent on someone other than yourself to make a difference in your life. Which is how and why we still depend on welfare and the "gomment" to "hep us". Understand that Christianity was taught to your forefathers by whites to keep them from practicing vodoo (or whatever they were into at the time) -- now many of them don't even believe their own hype. Look at the many surveys. More blacks believe than anybody -- and gender-wise most women -- so, BLACK WOMEN believe like a mofo!!! Self-dependency is the only way. I know I am in the minority here BIG time -- but it's true. Why is it that WE -- BLACKS -- are the SICKEST people on earth (more heart disease, diabetes, cancer, obesity, etc.), score the lowest collectively on IQ tests (lower than many 3rd World nations) and are the lowest wage earners (only about $1,000+ annually per household more than Native Americans) if Jebus was on our side? Think about it. Believers have been waiting JC's return since the first 100 years after his death -- ehhhhrrr, ressurection. (BTW: Research the Mythras religion, 3,000 years b.c.)

In summation, I wouldn't leave you without a subsequent address to encourage greater achievement and growth within the community of which I am a part (notice I didn't use "apart" -- as that would've meant just the opposite). Henceforth, the path to becoming an true economic powerbase is easily decipherable: education, assertion, smart buying, and consciousness to strengthen our black community internally and self-sufficiently.

Now, how many grammatical errors did I make w/my 6th grade education?

Actually, Ms. Hunter, I am an editor AND a publisher. I publish a monthly business newspaper here in Houston (and edit every single word) and a business directory. Don't let the grade level fool you, I have educated myself and built a business because of it. I spent many years as a graphic designer entrepreneur and 90% of my clients were white and corporate. I have always presented myself in a very positive way. Six figure income since I was 32, several employees, etc.

And as the respondant to YOUR post indicated, one usually doesn't have to search for grammatical mistakes. They usually jump out at you just by simply reading.

Furthermore, I don't spread hatred, I encourage -- sometimes a little too strongly for people's taste. And as for opening the Bible and reading about Jebus, don't ever assume that b/c someone isn't a believer means that they aren't knowledgeable. I have read the entire Bible twice in my lifetime and studied it far more times -- which is why I no longer believe it. If you allowed yourself to open your eyes to truth you wouldn't believe in fairy tales either. Thanks for your sympathy but I'll be just fine.
