I just got on this morning and have already seen two people asking "who is Joe Biden". Don't you people keep up on national news and politics? We live in this country too, you know? This guy has run for president TWICE! How do you NOT KNOW who he is?
Black folks are simply amazing. Thanks for clearing up the question, Mr. Maxwell. I agree that he's a good choice and one that I was hoping he'd make only second to reaching across the aisle and teaming w/Ron Paul.
Now, some on here are asking, "who's Ron Paul?"

Craig, do you EVER post anything that doesn't harshly judge or attempt to chastise other people? MANY people live in this world AND in the US, so if we don't know Joe Biden right now, so what? We're asking who he IS. Either TELL us or keep the chastisement as bay. PLEASE???????
And for the record, I have been following this race allmost since it began. I've heard Biden's name but a few times, so haven't heard a lot about him. Thus, the question, "Who is he?" It's a fair question. I will also take the time to do independent research when I have time. In the meantime, getting some feedback about what other people know about him is perfectly reasonable.

P.S - What I DO remember about Biden is his assertion that BARACK IS NOT READY TO BE PRESIDENT...THAT HE'S TOO INEXPERIENCED. I guess Barack doesn't remember that. I found a YouTube video where he not only said (gently) that Barack is not ready yet, but that he'd be HONORED TO RUN WITH OR RUN AGAINST JOHN MCCAIN!!!
I guess he's changed his mind?

Biden appeals to broader democratic supporters, you know, the older ones with money, the mature middle class democrats. They are ready for change but not as much changes as the younger, new democrats are. It was a politically expedient choice.

My main problem with Biden was the comments he made about Obama, during the primaries. So, I was a little shock that he picked him. Obama's pick of Biden, only shows me that people in general, respect you when you stand your ground and throw in some occasional insults, will get you a VP nomination.
If Obama doesn't have a problem with white people asking for their demands to be meet, why can't we. This Delaware senator, before this presidency run was o.k. with me. I certainly view him differently now. But that just goes to show you, that people will say, and/or do anything to get what they want. Look, it paid off for Biden. Now he's one crazy white man away from being president of the U.S. of America, with one security breakdown.
Its continues to happen, we are consistently cosigning the way white people view us. Biden views during his campaigne run was symbollic of the views many white folks (and other groups), think of black people. Then he goes ahead and sleeps with the enemy (politically speaking). Go figure! So if you look at the big picture, at least he knows where Biden stands with him, and its on record. I guess it would be better than picking someone who he's not sure of. At least he knows how to position himself with Biden. If Obama still falls on his face, he can only blame himself and his handlers, not black America.

At this point, I'm far more concerned about whether enough is being done to get people registered to vote! So many people are eligible but refuse to participate in the political process and many of them are African Americans. They need to understand the importance of participating in this process that affects all Americans.

I'm still up in the air about Biden. Am I the only one who heard, "I don't care how I get into the White House...WITH John McCain or against John McCain...as long as I get there"? Of course, he now has to add, "Uh, I didn't figure on getting here with Obama because after all, he ain't read right now, but hey, he picked me so NOW I'm choosing him"? Does no one else see what a danger Biden is and how wishy washing he is? He basically said what's in quotation marks early on in the primaries. He was WILLING to sleep with enemy if it was his ticket to the White House. Not even Hillary went that far.
I'm happy for Obama but I'm not sure Biden is in it for anybody but Biden and he's thanking GOD that Obama obviously didn't remember.

Mr. Maxwell, I find it interesting that people are ready to gut punch Hillary Clinton (and even request that she publicly apologize) for saying some of the same things about Obama as did Biden, who in my opinion took it a huge step farther by suggesting (for millions to see) that not only should Obama NOT be president, but that if it was a choice between Obama and McCain, the country would be better off with McCain.
And I'm not just focusing on that one statement, though it is an absolute doozy. Biden has said more, but that just stood out to me because HE said (not Dee Gray said)...HE said that. And he MEANT it. He didn't expect Barack to rise to the occasion and since he has, I'm sure what Biden is thinking is, "Great, he chose ME," and of course, wiping the sweat from his brow. LOL.
I don't trust any man who will not absolutely choose a side.

Irma, I think your reasoning is warped in this case. MANY people have suffered atrocities in their lifetimes but are not shifty.
It IS possible to withstand adversity and come out with some integrity, ya know. I can't comment on the rest because I didn't understand it. (Although I DID understand what you said about MJ and I totally agree with that).

well during the primaries Bill and hillary didnt feel Obama was the best choice for president either but at the DNC They both stood behind him and was encouraging other democratic voters to stand behind him too as well as biden so if joe biden said he didnt feel obama wasnt ready yet that is absolutely fine maybe he feels that he can help obama get ready now that he has been chosen to run with him and think about this if joe biden really had a major problem with obama do you think he would have accepted obama's request for him to be his running mate?

The first thing I saw on main stream media today should have make the Hillary Clinton supporters shout with joy as MCcain is running her every reason to not vote for Obama sound bites. Hillary is still campaigning against Obama becoming the first Black man in the White House.

With all of that lobby money floating around in D.C. political offices, why did Joe Biden have to keep taking our loans on his home to keep his sons in college? The quote of Joe biden said,"Obama CAN be ready, but he is not ready now". Well Obama sure is ready now as Joe Biden said if any one bother to not change the quote from what Biden said to please them; but if one knows nothing about this man how do they know what someone says he said is a misquote in the first place?I do remember that a campaign debate was not about the other people saying that Obama was more qualified for the office than they were. Now did Hillary Clinton at any time say Obama was qualified before loosing? His Bill Clinton ever said this to this day and even the main stream media Knows nothing about it?
And, I must add, please join me in hoping that Hillary Clinton take in how Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden will be dressed at the Democrat convention????The whole world will be watching the female leaders of America as ladies to look up to and admire and may even dress like!!!

Did any one see my saying days ago that Biden would be Obama's VP?!? Kennedy and Biden have been the ones helping Obama since he has been in Washington, D.C.. They always gave him committee positions in the Senate to be the leader of as they have always had faith in this young unknown Black man. At first I believed it to be "VP" John Edwards and Obama. But then during the campaign when Hillary keep taking about Obama not casting any votes on foreign affairs; Joe Biden began to come out and say Obama did not have to be there because he himself was filling in for Obama.
Joe Biden and Edward Kennedy have always Been Obama's fail safe in the Senate. I noticed that the media never ever mentioned the part Biden had played in keeping them off Obama's back.But, I gather you have noticed the Clintons are still being talked about it seem to not have to talk about how much Joe Biden and Obama actually have in common. Put these two together on as a political team and call these two "A DREAM "team!
Looks like the media will not do this and will not do this. There are no missing parts;even Biden not wanting his son raised by a 'single' father getting killed in Iraq!!!!!!These two are going to go down in American History wearing those RED & BLUE ties as they wore today.

There are three choices in the coming election in November: Obama-Biden, MCcain-___or write in the name Hillary Clinton and live with your own choice. If I can live with a G.W. Bush win twice and my 4 year old grandchild's mother will not have to serve another tour of duty in the Navy in the next two years before she retire... And , Joe Biden's son going off to the war that his father tried to stop but was ignored by Bushat the beginning-Hillary did not read about the war any way before signing for it...Biden with all of the lobby moneyfloating around for Senators(like Clinton who did take it) is not even a millionair...a single father who was willing to turn down the Senate to be at his son's bed sides in their hospital beds...
Hillary having money being earned at the expense of the dead and dying in Dubya, helping jobs go out of his countryon the Walmart board, calling s*xual abuse of women as proof that she "loves" Bill(this she said to Oprah)
Never being seen in an all White church or an all Black town..Oh, and that Black Liberation church (close to the White House)she and Bill attended on a regular basis while in the White House...What does anyone not know about Hillary? Oh,not all of the things that Homeland Security wants to know and the real reason HRC asked not to be vetted for this info...again use Biden to misdirect known facts about HRC.

I feal ya Mister Johnson, but please look at even our climate is "shifting"(smile)Mother Nature dictates that we must shift if we are to survive. I am impressed with Joe Biden not being a millionair. He even brought up something that was very true and interesting about those "older" White women unwilling to vote for Obama. These females in the period they are from would have been called "unfit mothers" if they had worked out side of the home as wife and mother as the Black wife and mother did at that time!!
No one will call Biden out on this now will they?????Has anyone been talking about how the NUNs caused this man so much pain and suffering from the child abuse they put on this man? Something that has made him the man he is today...Biden has the to be shifty. He has survied all of his life adjusting to his environment, just as Obama has had to do...
These two men are the "dream" of Dr. M.L.
