Garvey's storm is brewing. His whirlwind is spinning. His torch burns once again!
Marcus Garvey encouraged Black people to unite together, to be proud, to achieve, to build their own business and to buy from each other. He built factories to make Black products and had over 1,000 Black people employed in his "United Negro Factories Corporation" in New York City alone. His famous words, "Be Black, Buy Black, Build Black, and all else will take care of itself" has become a motto for the TAG TEAM Movement, almost a century later.
Marcus Garvey and the U.N.I.A. held a famous convention in 1920 in New York City, where Black people from countries all over the world met. At that convention, they adopted the red, black and green flag as the official flag of African people all over the world.
Inspired by Marcus Garvey, the TAG TEAM Movement proudly wears the colors red, black and green in its logo and is committed to carrying forward his legacy by moving the global Black community into economic power.
Garvey's storm is brewing. His whirlwind is spinning. Marcus Garvey's torch burns once again.
"BE Black, BUY Black, BUILD Black, and all else will take care of itself." - Marcus Garvey

Thank you for your comments. But the Garvey movement was ended before it could be fulfilled entirely when he was deported. But look at the Black nations that still exist out who followed Garvey's ideologoy. Check out this website http://www.africawithin.com/clarke/impact_... especially the part about the 1945 Pan African Conference. By no means do I want to go back to live in Africa, but the concept of Blacks from around the globe staying united and working together for a common goal is my point.
