"We have beautiful history, and we shall create another in the future that will astonish the world."

"Be as proud of your race today as our fathers were in days of yore (long ago). We have beautiful history, and we shall create another in the future that will astonish the world." Marcus Garvey

I love these words from Brother Garvey that he spoke almost 100 years ago. Isn't it funny how cycles repeat themselves? Do you think that Bro. Garvey, Malcolm or Dr. King ever envisioned a Black family in the White House? So taking that in consideration and the visionary words of Bro Garvey, what can we do in 2009 to help his vision of Black pride, unity and economic empowerment come to an even higher level of fruition?

We can expand on Bro Garvey's vision of uniting more Black Consumers with Black Businesses. We need production facilities owned and operated by Black people! To produce the wonderful bath, body, beauty products, clothing, computers, CDs/DVDs, etc. We need to search for a Black owned business for our everyday products and services first, before we shop at the Big Box or other retail stores. Then we need a distribution operation to get these products made by Black entrepreneurs to the Black consumers and Black retail establishments! After that we need more Black financial institutions. I personally have both my personal and business account with a Black owned bank. We can take the Black Wall Street (Tulsa, Oklahoma) to a global level and create hundreds even thousands of self-sufficient Black communities around the world.

With any major change in society, it starts with a handful of people with a united vision. Those willing to make the vision into a reality...these are true visionaries. Those willing to accept that everyone they talk to will not accept this idea of change...many will take the wait and see attitude. Let me wait and see if you can do this before I step out and try it. But there will be many others who see the big picture and come on board who are ready, willing and able to help do what is needed.

So if you have seen or heard any of my previous blogs, you know that I am actively pursuing to fulfill Bro Garvey’s dream. I buy Black as much as possible. I let others know about other Black businesses. My husband and I even gave away 25-second commercials on our radio show last year, so that our listeners would know where to find Black businesses in my area to support.

You are receiving this message because of the internet, which is one of the most powerful resources on the planet that we can use to make all of this happen. There is a powerful video that I hope you can take the time to watch at http://www.blackbusinessnetwork.com/TeamDo... that starts about 2 min in with a phenomenal presentation of how our people dominate every single field we enter, sports, entertainment/music and now is our time to dominate in the field of business like never before. Trust me this video will blow you away and inspire you to do what you need to do for your business, your family and your community!

Thank you MIISRAEL! In my older life I have been truly inspired by Marcus Garvey and all of his accomplishments. I really believe we still have alot to accomplish as a poeple.

Hello Darlene,

I understand your aspirations. I believe I fully understood Garvey, Malcolm and Dr. King’s aspirations for Black Americans as well. However, I do know nothing is workable for Black Americans outside of having a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. Then and only then could Black Americans pursue further than the vision of Garvey, Malcolm and Dr. King. Am I making any sense with you?

I know that I am right since you mentioned Black Wall Street (Tulsa, Oklahoma). However, you did not tell the entire story. Black Wall Street was destroyed because it did not belong to Black Americans. The gist that is to be gotten from the experience of Black Wall Street is that Black Americans must have our own, which is a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders as I have been constantly saying.

With all due respect to your aspirations and visions of Dr. King Black Americans are going to inherit a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. Such a thing as what happened to Black Wall Street will not happen again. Everything that I say is going to happen.

However, first things come first. We must desire to become a sovereign people or have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. Am I making any sense with you?

Now, if we do not desire to have sovereignty and the incidence of Black Wall Street does not repeat itself Black Americans are still losers since Black Americans would still be subjugated and dependent upon White America for all of our products as well as paying taxes into White America’s government instead of our own government, am I right.

Once you fully understand what I am saying, the question would be who the person that could lead us into sovereignty is.

Tell me what you think.

Harry, Harry, Harry...you really underestimate the thinking of the brothers and sisters of this forum don't you?

Siebra Muhammad Friday, June 18th 2010 at 10:27AM

Love your posts Darlene, keep them coming!

Darlene Robinson Friday, June 18th 2010 at 11:24AM

Thanks for the positive feed back Siebra and Amenseph Hetep! I know there are a lot more brothers and sisters on this site and others who believe in what i am saying.

Harry Watley Friday, June 18th 2010 at 11:47AM

Hello Siebra,

I notice as always that none of you is saying that the things I say are stupid. How about that, yet you all offers nothing but criticism. I am looking for someone to say Harry you are wrong about XYZ.

Siebra, I do not under estimate the thinking of BIA. I am flat out saying that BIA does not think.

You Negroes should look at CNN when a discussion is going on and take notice of how points are made and how points are knocked down.

Now, Siebra are you saying that my post is wrong.

In short, what I am saying is that what Darlene and the rest of you thinks our problem is, is not really our problem. Our problem is to become a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. Unless we have this permanent solution, we will always have these superficial problems of education and economics, am I right.

Tell me what you think.
