When the congregation of Riverside Church found out the compensation package of the pastor – Dr. Braxton, all hell broke loose. Dr. Braxton, a black Baptist minister and former Rhodes Scholar, was responsible for bringing in a huge congregation. The congregation sued the church for failure to disclose financial transparency, the case made it to the Supreme Court.

His package included
“an annual base salary of $250,000; a monthly housing allowance of $11,500; pension and life insurance benefits; entertainment, travel and “professional development” expenses; an equity allowance for the future purchase of a home; money for a full-time maid; and private school tuition for his 3-year-old daughter.”

Hello Mr. Weston,

You asked this question, “Question for you: No one in the bible earned wealthy incomes for spreading the word of God, Why did it become a highly paid position in modern times?”

You have inadvertently answered your own question when you said it has become a highly paid profession. Preaching the Word of God is Dr. Braxton occupation and there is nothing wrong with that since he is not God anointed as I am. Does that make any sense to you?

What say you?

It became a highly paid position when it became apparent that sheeple will follow them without question. It's the same as when women began working outside the home. Businessmen's eyes opened wide at the thought that the once single income home had doubled -- so they could now sell a toaster for $50.00 that once sold for $5.00. Which is why you see churches on damn near every corner in the Black neighborhood. Most of these guys know that they can make more money and gain more power over sheeple's lives than they ever could get working.

It's a profession.

Oh, and Harry, God didn't anoint you. God is d-e-a-d.

Let us understand the bibble?
Moses left Egypt with enough people for 12 tribes, could have been 12 or 120 or 120,000 or......
He had to feed them in the Desert for 40 years---
He came down from the Mountain and the 12/120/120000--made a God out of Gold.

I say, based on these universal facts, That Men from The Creator are the most valuable to men and their rewards are unimaginable. They Richest.

now of course bernieMadoff and wallstreet Tribes also made a lot of money.

I would give harry my 2cents.
