Brother with all due respect... I don't particularly like this question.... Unless we take a look at man.... shouldn't he too be brought back??? If I am understanding what you are saying... Is it You feel that women have drifted away from GOD's inital purpose for her existance... As the help meet for man.... As the barer of fruit? As being submissive to man?
Not at all sister.
Actually, if there is going to be a representation for a "God", should there not be a representation for a "Goddess" as well?
"Is it You feel that women have drifted away from GOD's inital purpose for her existance... As the help meet for man."
Your responds is from a Judeo-Christian-Islamic perspective, of being subservient to man. I ask from the view of both sharing the Godhead. Even the example of coming from a man's rib shows woman coming from a small insignificant part. If this were a true story, wouldn't it have made more sense for the woman to be the heart of a man.
Is is not a true symbol of life and love, just as women are ?
Why would women want to step into an arena that is full of conflict already. You know yourself that man thinks of everything as a contest to see which one has the better talent. I think that woman want to be at peace with the opposite s*x and not set odds against each other. Could it be possible that same s*x couples are secretly saying that they don't need the opposite s*x to survive?
A woman as Godhead............Harry provided the best explanation. Nothing good would come out of it.
There is a speech by Min. Farrakhan called "A Nation Can Rise No Higher Than Its Woman". The reason for the saying that "A Nation Can Rise No Higher Than Its Woman" is because the woman is the first teacher of the child, yet a woman properly balanced expresses the knowledge of her husband/child's father. When the man is right, the woman will be right, and what she nurtures of him (the children, or "the future") will be free of error.
Min. Farrakhan has reprimanded the NOI many times because he understand that the black woman is much more than just some baby producing and child teacher. There is true dimension and science hidden in the divine nature of the black woman. Her wisdom has no limit to what she can create or produce for the black nation as she can reflect Allah images resplendidly as the sun and give it the power it needs in its infancy and throughout its life just by her righteous demeanor.
One of the most powerful women that ever lived on the planet was Cleopetra. Thanks to her charades with the white devil, Egypt was overtaken without even much of a fight....no thanks. It puts a blemish on Egypt's glorious past.
Woman is spirtually the "GOD HEAD"... it was woman who birthed our Savior... In Society women have been the figure head within the home... ie. Head of Household... because of absence of the MALE FIGURE...
As a woman... I would most certainly appreciate the role of sharing the role with a man.... and also, allowing him to take the lead... providing that he truly represents the God's purpose for MAN...
Sister Helen asks... why should we want to step into this role.... UNFORTUNATELY many of us are in this role... by default.
Until MAN gets right with GOD... women have no other alternative but to carry the LEAD....
As for "women" GOD knew .... when he made woman from the rib bone of man...that she was deemed to be Strong... and that MEN would always chase after women...
GOD knew exactly what he was doing... and MAN has been since the beginning of EVE... always watching and waiting... INSTEAD of standing and DOING..
Brother Okpara ... ONE MORE POINT.... the Rib is a very significant part of the human body:
it supports the shoulders.... it protects the heart, lungs, (chest cavity) and also it is attached to the spine... which helps support the spinal colum...
Isn't it remarkable that GOD would take a Rib.... He knew very well that women... were going to have to be strong....
And the men who have commented on this .....
Oh well....
I'm happy to see everyone now responding. It helps me to see what has not been taught regarding women and their contribution to history.
First, Brother Jamal Abraham,
You referred to Cleopatra. To which are you referring to, due to the fact there were 7 of them. The most commonly spoke of was Cleopatra VII. Your attention to her is because western history has identified her because of her fare skin.
There were other Queen/King pharoah's who reigned much longer than she and made a greater contribution to Kemetic/ Egyptian civilization. They were: Hatshepsut, Merneith, Nimaethap, Sobekneferu, AhhotepI, Ahmose-Nefertari and Twoset.
It would be good for you to learn about thier history.
For those who are of the Islamic persuasion, before Muslim's worshiped the male God Allah, they worshiped the female Goddess Allat.
There is an excellent youtube documentary called, "The Goddess Allat preceded the God Allah". There are other sources that also mention 3 Goddess of the Islamic belief system: Goddesses Al-Uzza, Al-Lat and Menat. Some historians address them as the daughters of Allah. However, the earlier writings or primary evidence/sources speak of Allat being the first worshiped by them or the mother of them all.
The purpose of this is to evoke your curiosity into knowing the history of "You" and the power of your past, present and future. I encourage the challenge of knowing. Only then will the foggy lens be made clear and we can see things as they are and not as they pretend to be.
"Know Thyself" (Kemet)
"Show thyself approved unto God. A workmen that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".
"Seek and Yee shall find".
Knock, and the doors shall be open unto you". (Judeo-Christan-Muslim)
Good start everybody, but keep going....
Brother Okpara... I do not subscribe to Religion..I was raised a Catholic... and baptised as a Baptist....so you can imagine my teachings.... I believe in living a life which is pleasing to my Higher Power... I would say I am spiritual...
Bro. Okpara, you mention Hatshepsut, who was a great queen. I visited her Temple when visiting Egypt back in 1986. Must admit it was quite impressive. But her reign was only about 15 years. But, Cleopatra ruled for 21 years, from 51 BC to 30 BC.
As far as an ancient tradition preceding the One God of the Universe, Allah, I find that interesting. For sure, the truth of God has not been known. Man has evolved to a greater understanding of his universe including the God of it. As man has evolved, remnants known as artifacts help represent their ignorance or achievement. Modern civilization has learned to value time to the extinct that more time is spent building "things" that move rather than building "things" that move not. For example a statue cannot move. But, an airplane can. If I had my choice over a beautiful tall statue or an airplane at my command, I would take the airplane. Point, is that man's knowledge has progressed. Now we "realize" that God is male. There is countless evidence of it.
Allah has always been and will always be God. He neither begets nor is He begotten meaning He has know daughters or sons. This is why Abraham destroyed all the statues in the Temple because he realized that a statue cannot move and cannot bring water and a statue cannot bring food and a statue cannot bring milk or your daily bread. In fact the statues, masks, artifacts bring nothing but the traders best price.
It is enlightening that you have created a forum for us to speak of these things that are very relevant to African Americans troubles today.
"All Faith is false, all Faith is true:
Truth is the shattered mirror strown
In myriad bits; while each believes
His little bit the whole to own. "
People of different belief systems all believe that theirs is the one and only as you may. Thus, the world's problem.
A person does not have to believe as I believe for us to do business, get along or be brothers. Only mutual respect is what Abraham asks.
No I never said that I believe that mine is the one and only... All Faith is false...
Faith in my opinion is TRUE if you have a trusting reliance upon things that are not known... Faith as a Mustard Seed....
The Truth.... Is broken... not always complete and factual.... Truth is within one's abilitiy to know good... do good... be good......
"To Thy Ownself Be True".... If I'm not true to myself... How can I provide truth to others?
@ Jamal.... is this statement directed at me????
((A person does not have to believe as I believe....... . Only mutual respect ))!!!
Do NOT make me go there with you Sweetie!!!
You MEN... are something else....(Ha!)
Did I scare everyonne away for 4 whole days!!! Proves my point Okpara.... WOMAN IS THE GODHEAD!!!! yyyyeess! Gotta love it!
Then it is time to prove it and not speak about it.
You don't like me now do you?
Furthermore, I don't have to prove it.... I am living it.... But since I detect a slight overtone from what you have written.... I will make certain not to barge in on anymore of your blogs... And I apologize for any distraction I may have caused.... I thought I could learn a few things from you.....
"woman is the godhead"?
yes of paganChristianity
Sister Cynthia,
The purpose of me providing information is for scholarship exploration and research not for any emotional turmoil. It should be recognized that I bring this to the fore because women are not given their proper due of respect. Unfortunately, the written word using the Internet format can not totally convey the nuance that the spoken word can provide. Your response about me not liking you is an example of your misinterpretation of what's presented or my inability to get a point across.
Yes brother Robert, women are apart of the Godhead with man, but their identity has become subservient to man, because of man. Their presence should be raised to its proper place in order for there to be balance in the human psyche.
When I said it is time to prove it, action for this can be initiated by men and women not referring to "God" as "He", which is what we all have been indoctrinated to say.
By continuing to respond this way, we continue to undermine the spiritual Godhead of th woman.
A matter of fact, if man worshiped the female Godhead and the female worshiped the male Godhead, both would have a greater respect and love for one another.
It's all about balance, harmony and peace.
Dr. Nosakhere,
Man was once "Without", female..........
until The Creator decided that some passionDesire should be a part of the createdHuman.
eveHowah as I explained above already has mans' rib and his Relationship with His Creator.
her purpose was to aid man,
eveHowah was content in Paradise!
until she had to 'bare fruit'
she then felt her sole experience of menses, emotion, pregnancy.----
so eve chose another tree to pull 'fruit' from, and that fruit subjugated her and Adaam
paganChristianThought may believe that is subservient, I do NOT.
worship is for The Creator of male and female, ONLY
and then the Original 'Balance, harmony and peace" that Creator intended for Human Being may be realized.
Robert, it is only through mythology that woman came to life after man. Your example is one of many in the chronicles of human existence.

cause they already took Mans rib and his relationship with His Creator for the femaleHead.
