“Independent, self-reliant people are a counter productive anachronism in the collective society of the future in modern society, people will be defined by their associations. One explanation for deindividuation is that groups give us anonymity. Those who are part of a group may act uninhibited because they believe their identity is concealed and no one will be able to identify them. Individuality is the ability to have and express one's own ideas that differs from others. A person has to separate themself from the group mentality in order to find their own individual identity.
