GOP lands no clear punches while sparring with Clinton over Benghazi

Six hours after it began, a House committee’s questioning of Hillary Rodham Clinton has provided few new details about the 2012 attacks on American installations in Benghazi, Libya – and, so far, no clear victory for Republicans seeking to trap Clinton in an admission of bad judgment.

Republicans on the committee have repeatedly pressed Clinton about the special access she gave longtime friend Sidney Blumenthal, who sent reports about Libya to the private e-mail address that Clinton used for government business while she was secretary of state. They have contrasted that with the treatment of U.S. Ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens, whose requests for greater security measures went through official channels and never bubbled up to Clinton’s desk.

This GOP committee on the Benghazi investigation has failed to shake her after eight hours of testimony.

As this committee is drilling Hillary, she has turned what was suppose to be a negative on her into a positive by keeping her cool..

11 hours of testimony by Hillary Clinton and the GOP never laid a glove on her. 11 hours of endurance before the GOP Benghazi Committee about Hillary's E-mails, when the chairman told us a day before the hearing that it was not about the E-mails, which he receives 4 Pinocchio's.

Steve Williams Friday, October 23rd 2015 at 7:56AM

It wasn't about email security. Of course they talked about email content, duh.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, October 23rd 2015 at 8:29AM

So what! The GOP failed to do what they set out to do and that was to wear Hillary down and make her look like s fool, the blame for BenGhaz after i11 hours of grilling and nothing.

Like Bernie said: "I am sick of hearing about Hillary's damn E-mails!!!"

Steve Williams Friday, October 23rd 2015 at 9:04AM

There's 13 months to go, assuming she gets the nomination. Only Hillary can put the email security issue to rest, which she can't apparently. Someone eventually will ask the right question.

The Carna botnet was a botnet of 420,000 devices created by an anonymous hacker to measure the extent of the Internet in what the creator called the “Internet Census of 2012”.

Data collection Edit
The data was collected by infiltrating Internet devices, especially routers, that used a default password or no password at all. It was named after Cardea, the Roman goddess associated with door hinges.[1][2]

It was compiled into a gif portrait to display Internet use around the world over the course of 24 hours. The data gathered included only the IPv4address space and not the IPv6 address space.[3][4]

The Carna Botnet creator believes that with a growing number of IPv6 hosts on the Internet, 2012 may have been the last time a census like this was possible.[5]

You are acting like a old man that was just told that your young girl friend had another man.

Democratic presidential candidate former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton shakes hands with House Select Committee on Benghazi chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., at the conclusion of a hearing.

GET OVER IT! Hillary Clinton had a very good week and it shows in the polls. LOL!!! http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/gop...

Marathon Benghazi hearing leaves Hillary Clinton largely unscathed.

Washington (CNN)—Hillary Clinton avoided major damage to her presidential campaign during a nearly 11-hour congressional hearing Thursday dominated by Republican criticism of her response to the Benghazi attacks.

Bitter political undercurrents festered all day during a contentious showdown that turned into a political endurance test. After a day-long grilling on the details of the attack and how Clinton handled it, the former secretary of state was forced to defend her use of a private email account while in office from a flurry of late evening attacks by GOP lawmakers.

Why would I care if she had a very good week? The Carna Botnet is what discovered Clinton's server. It's results are available online, and were used by the AP in it's investigation that exposed information about Hillary's server that casts doubt on its security. Hillary conveniently wiped the server clean so instead of a live system there is now a dead one that can only be examined forensically. That's your girl.

Give it up Steven, this is the eighth investigation that found no smoking gun. I know that you would not be happy until the GOP calls for a ninth investigation into Benghazi. (LOL)

Have heard this news, now some southern REP. Wants to impeach Hillary on day one if she becomes the people choice for President for crimes and misdemeanors. What a looser, as the Donald would say.

I changed this photo of the handshake to show the world that Hillary holds no ill feelings towards your boy.

I don't care about Benghazi. I watched the hearing to see if anyone questioned her on her email server security. Seeing her superb craftiness in action was a bonus. The voters' concern about her trustworthiness is well placed.

Hillary Clinton took a new tack this week when answering questions about her use of a private email account as secretary of state: She took responsibility and admitted she was at fault.

“It clearly wasn’t the best choice,” Clinton said flatly on Wednesday, as she campaigned in Iowa.

On Thursday, the reason for the change in tone came into sharper focus with a stunning new poll illustrating the extent to which voters don’t trust Clinton to tell the truth.

While Republicans have been test-driving attacks against Clinton for a year and a half, no other line of attack has broken through to this degree. The numbers in a new Quinnipiac University poll are striking: More than 3-in-5 voters, 61 percent, think Clinton isn’t honest and trustworthy. Overall, Clinton’s favorability ratings slipped to 39 percent — her lowest rating since Quinnipiac began polling on Clinton after she and her husband left the White House.

When voters were asked the first word that came to their mind about Clinton, the top three replies were indictments of her trustworthiness. The No. 1 response was “liar,” followed by “dishonest” and “untrustworthy.” Overall, more than a third of poll respondents said their first thought about Clinton was some version of: She’s a liar.

That investigation was not about Benghazi and the four dead Americans anyway, this was the LIE to knock down Hillary Clinton which fail on it's face and found no smoking gun or email server security issues.

You and the GOP like gammy grumpy old people with one mission and when that mission fails they have nothing else to talk about. NO smoking gun found here, move on... nothing to see here (LOL)

Steve Williams Saturday, October 24th 2015 at 11:03AM

You're the one that loves polls. 3 in 5 voters don't trust her. The hearing didn't change any of that.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, October 24th 2015 at 11:50AM

The Mission was to take down Hillary Clinton which they failed in there mission. I am sure that you are looking at T.V. right now. NO Smoking GUN Found.

Pataki finally did it! He directly accused Clinton of running an unsecured server.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Wednesday, October 28th 2015 at 9:27PM

OK... Now what? Did they find a stand down order or what?

Steve Williams Wednesday, October 28th 2015 at 10:38PM

Now we see if the media picks it up.

Steve Williams Thursday, October 29th 2015 at 12:03AM

On cyber security Pataki said, “I will put in place a policy where if we know a company, say a Chinese company, is hacking into American companies, stealing trade secrets as we know they do everyday, we will retaliate against that company and say that that company is not going to be allowed to continue to do trade with the United States. I would also look at what we’re doing at the federal level and put in place what Israel has done — one federal agency dealing with cyber security and charged with working across silos to make sure we have the best technology.”

He continued, “I have to tell you something, talking about cyber security, Hillary Clinton put a server, an unsecured server, in her home as Secretary of State. We have no doubt that that was hacked and that state secrets are throughout to the Iranians, the Russians, the Chinese and others. that alone should disqualify her from being president of the United States.”

You think that Gowdey should call Hillary back?

Steve Williams Thursday, October 29th 2015 at 8:09AM

No! I think some damn reporter somewhere should ask her!
