Will Trump's SCOTUS pick disappoint Trump?
The president does not have a discernible judicial philosophy and could regret his choice if that justice repeatedly votes against him.

Legal conservatives are confident they won’t be disappointed by President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick — but Trump may well be.
The new president doesn't have a discernible judicial philosophy, and his public comments about judges and the court system suggest he values winning above consistent legal principles. Some conservatives say Trump approaches judges and the court system as a with-me-or-against-me proposition that could make him regret if that justice repeatedly rules against him.
“The conservative legal world is built around a set of ideas. Letting the president do what the president wants is not one of those ideas,” said Orin Kerr, a George Washington University law professor and former law clerk to Justice Anthony Kennedy. “I wouldn’t be surprised if a Trump judicial pick votes against Trump.”
Trump is expected to announce his choice Tuesday night.
