Gergen: Trump not seen as world leader at G20

Gergen got it right, what the President is saying. We are not the the leader. Good.

One thing that's being overshadowed, that this is the first time that I have seen a US president who was regarded as the leader in the past, no longer regarded as the worlds leader. even though, we still have the largest Army, Navy and Air force in the world. WE, the people of The United States has lost that Title under Trump at this years G-20.

Why??? Because of Trump attitude and antics. I guess you find that funny too!!!

No world leader thinks this President of the United States is weak. That's a legacy of his predecessor.

Here, let us take a look at what happened when Trump took the stage. How world leaders reacted to Trump's UN speech. As President Donald Trump took the world stage Tuesday at the United Nations General Assembly to deliver a speech, world leaders were stoic and quiet, barely reacting to his remarks about their countries.

Outside of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted that he had never heard a "bolder or more courageous speech" in his time at the UN, we have no other plus comments.

How do you know what a world leader is thinking Ron? You're the one who claims you know how our leader is regarded. Show me the evidence of any world leader who has said our President is weak.

I still want to know what our allies think, not what the think-tanks think.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is in summary what we've been talking about. We will continue with a friendly tone and informal one this evening. Regarding trade and security for both our countries, the fight against terrorism, stability in the Near and Middle East, in Libya or in the Sahel, I can say that we have a shared determination. The United States is extremely involved in the Iraq War, and I would like to thank President Trump for everything that's been done by the American troops against this background. But I would like him to know that I am fully determined to act together with him in this respect -- fully determined.

I very much want both our countries in these matters to increase their cooperation in the coming month, because the threat we are facing is a global one. The enemies -- our enemies are trying to destabilize us by any way. And I believe that this is very much at the heart of the historic alliance between our two countries, and which fully justifies the presence of President Trump today and tomorrow in Paris.

Next -- well, of course, President Trump will tell you about it, but he's made a number of commitments, and we're going to be working together, and my willingness to continue to work with the United States and the President on these very major topics. Use your common sense Steve, President Macron of France could not possibly know what Trump was going to say some Seven days into the future.

Now if you care, just one day after Trump delivers his first address to a session of the UN General Assembly. the same man President Macron of France, feels that he is The president who could change Trump’s mind.

Among the many listeners who believed he heard some telling inconsistencies in President Trump’s first address to the U.N. General Assembly was one Western leader who hopes to help Trump resolve the contradictions.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who also met with Trump on the sidelines of the U.N. meeting, noted that Trump’s speech contained both isolationist themes familiar from his 2016 campaign and elements that sounded more like a George W.
