The “march for our lives” was a partisan event. How will this partisan position on gun control effect the the 2018 elections?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, March 30th 2018 at 10:55AM

March for the right to live after being on the business end of a AR- 15 military style hand weapon, you call that "PARTISAN," I call it exercising your constitutional rights in this country to right a wrong and unjust law, by showing the power of a peaceful assembly.

Remember, this youth is the new generation of voter and it don't look good for "Right Wing Governing in this country."

This was no partisan event my friend if you saw this report at all.

Steve, did you see this video report?

Steve Williams Friday, March 30th 2018 at 11:25AM

It’s in this report Ron (which I watched on the night it aired). These protesters were almost all Democrats. What’s NOT in this report is an answer to the question posed in your title.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, March 30th 2018 at 12:02PM

I asked you Steve, did you see this video report? Now show us where you can find "PARTISANSHIP" in this blog? What you are seeing is the face of The Democratic Party Activism regaining it's power. When I think of the word "PARTISANSHIP" words come to mind like bias · prejudice · one-sidedness · discrimination · favoritism · favor · unfair preference · partiality · sectarianism · factionalism · injustice · unfairness · inequity

Steve, is any of that found in this Video report? If so, where?

That youth is seeing first hand, in the direction they will go Steve. You are also witnessing the division in the party which 45 is the head of, which is just another component in the war, Republican VS Republican.

Steve Williams Friday, March 30th 2018 at 12:19PM

79% identified as left leaning. 89% voted for Hillary. That’s PARTISAN.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, March 30th 2018 at 4:45PM

What is the matter Steve, don't like what you see this new strong wave you see for the near by future. Remember Steve, these young people was on the business end of a AR-15 military style rifle which is a lightweight semi-automatic weapon, now making their voices heard. THAT IS FREEDOM.

Steve Williams Friday, March 30th 2018 at 10:52PM

That’s fine Ron, let them protest. The only impact on the 2018 elections will be that an AR ban, should they pursue it, is the issue they will lose on.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, March 30th 2018 at 10:56PM

As you can see in this report the republicans are losing voters everyday and that is the way, it is.

If you want an illustration of the current Democratic dilemma on guns, look no further than the special congressional election in Pennsylvania’s 18th District, which will be decided on Tuesday.

Recent polls show Democrat Conor Lamb running neck and neck with his Republican opponent Rick Saccone. Democrats are looking at an improbable prospect: Lamb could win a deeply red district that Democrats were never even supposed to be competitive in. And part of the reason he might be doing so well is his pro-gun messaging.

Lamb’s first campaign ad featured footage of him shooting an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle at a gun range, with the narrator voiceover saying the candidate “still loves to shoot.”

Republicans have been trying furiously to attack Lamb on the gun issue, painting him as someone who will pursue aggressive gun control policies if elected to Congress. But he’s not giving them a lot of ammunition to work with. A US Marine Corps veteran, Lamb is on the record as not supporting additional gun control measures.

Conor Lamb is your hero right?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, March 31st 2018 at 10:13AM

YES HE IS STEVE? I may disagree with Democrat Conor Lamb on guns but this Democrat could win a deeply red district that Democrats were never even supposed to be competitive in.

I will keep a watch on this one.

Keep an eye on the ones that don't follow Lamb's lead.

Like the Democratic candidate for PA District 6.

Gun Violence Prevention
Gun violence prevention is a very critical issue. And it is widely agreed upon that many commonsense actions can and should be taken. Shootings are such a regular occurrence that we cannot afford to wait. We need to have this debate now and take the precautions and legislative steps necessary to prevent future tragedies from occurring.

This issue is very near to my heart. I taught high school chemistry in an area in which students were able to get their hands on guns because they were ever-present in the community. Additionally, one of my husband’s cousins was one of the EMTs after the Sandy Hook tragedy; his story rings in my mind every time there is another senseless tragedy.

I support the Second Amendment and responsible gun ownership, but I also believe we must take commonsense steps to reduce gun violence. Enough is enough. We must act. First, we need to allow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to research these issues so that we can use data to inform our decisions. I cannot understand how the gun lobby has persuaded Congress to ban the CDC from pursuing this basic research.

We also need to pursue some commonsense safety measures — measures that the majority of Pennsylvania families support. These steps include closing the gun show loophole, renewing the Federal Assault Weapons Ban and restrictions on high-capacity firearm magazines, and universal criminal background checks to keep guns out of the hands of felons and domestic abusers.

So far I agree with these GUN policies and I see no problems.

Steve, are you against these commonsense GUN safety measures?

Steve Williams Saturday, March 31st 2018 at 4:06PM

I'm against the lie, "common sense".
