President Trump threatens shutdown in meeting with Pelosi, Schumer

Can you believe what happen in The Oval Office in public? Look how Trump is interrupting Nancy Pelosi, do you see that?

I will shut down the government if I don't get my wall, did you see that?

Did you see:Trump claimed that, because she is working to nail down the votes to become speaker, “Nancy’s in a siutation where it’s not easy for her to talk right now?”

Pelosi answered: “Please don’t characterize the strength that I bring to this meeting.”

Pelosi repeatedly asked the president to take the encounter off-camera but it continued for nearly 20 rancorous minutes before Trump ejected the media.

WHO is going to PAY FOR THE WALL? MEXICO!!!! WHO? MEXICO!!! I wonder why you don't hear that chant anymore?

We do hear that chant today Ron. I just heard it many many times on Ali Velshi's show. Now did you notice Schumer say they could do the same thing they did last year and everything would be fine? I will post what Trump said when he signed the spending bill last year. To paraphrase, he said there was NO ****ING WAY HE WOULD SIGN SUCH A BILL EVER AGAIN!!! I'm sure you remember, don't you Ron?

I really don't believe what he said but if I have not seen this report for myself and watched the words come right out the president's mouth, I would not believe it.

I watched these words come right out of his very own mouth and their is no mistaken that. “I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck,” Trump said, insisting the public doesn’t want criminals and others coming into the country. “I’m going to shut it down for border security.”

Then Nancy popped back telling him that he don't have the votes in The House and she challenged him to prove it. WOW!!!

I saw and heard EVERYTHING Ron. It was wonderful! Shut these people down Mr. President, thank-you.

It wasn't a lie Ron. You have never understood his meaning and never will. First we need to build the wall and THEN, Mexico will PAY.

I am sure you remember that Trump, who has taken a hard stance on immigration, has called for a border wall since early in his presidential campaign. He said Mexico would pay for it, which Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has told Trump more then once that Mexico will not pay anything for a wall.

For one thing Ron, Mexico has a new President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Saying Mexico will pay for the wall is like Pelosi saying to pass the ACA so you could read it. Build the wall and you will see how Mexico pays for it.

López Obrador tapped into the same kind of populist support that Trump did, pitching himself as an outsider candidate who would fight for the people. He has previously spoken out against the U.S. president’s plans for a border wall.

López Obrador has written a book titled Oye, Trump (Listen Up, Trump), which slams the border wall and Trump’s attitude toward migrant workers, Politico reported. He has also promised supporters that Mexico “will never be the piñata of any foreign government.”

Where is your prove that say President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador will pay for a wall?

Let's take one step at a time Ron. The President has said he will shut down the government if he doesn't get 5 billion for the wall. We are waiting for that to happen, to see if Congress cares about the security of Americans or if they only care about their own sorry asses.

Don't you find it funny Steve, that Trump has control of both houses since Trump won the presidency and the Republicans did not give Trump $5 billion for that wall in two years? LOL...WOW!!!

Now in the last three weeks of the changing of the guard in The House from Republican to the Democrats, here comes TRUMP talking about he would be proud to shut down the government if he don't get funding for a wall. Now don't you find that FUNNY?

The Bills have reached a bipartisan agreement, we both will soon see if this government will shut-down while Trump still maintain the power in bout houses, this is his last hope for a wall.

Remember Ron, Congress can pass what they want and the President can refuse to sign it. Then we will see if your House Democrats have the votes to override his veto.

That is true but remember Steve, elections are coming up in TWO YEARS and if the President can refuse to sign any bill that will help the American people will hurt his chances for reelection. He can play hardball if he wants.

MY REPLY: Trump won the outdated, the old-fashioned, outmoded, unfashionable, behind the times electoral college from what I understand are composed of 13 states, date back to a time when only men could vote and Women could not and in this country slavery was well and alive. In my opinion Steve, this outmoded form of picking a president, which denies the average voter the right to have his/her vote count has long outlived its usefulness and should be abolished and that is how TRUMP became President of The United States of America.

MY REPLY: This is the first time this has ever happen in my life time that the popular vote was not the winner of the race for president since slavery and I know that a bill to change that Constitutional provision will not come to the floor of the senate this session because of Republican rule.

It's nothing to do with what party holds the Senate Ron. Constitutional amendments need to be approved by the STATES of our NATIONAL UNION. As far as the wall, I know you know what is meant by the phrase, that so-and-so "will pay for it". For example, "in 2020 the Democrats will pay for their congressional inaction".

The Constitution provides that an amendment may be proposed by the Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. WOW!!! You are talking like you just got of the boat, WOW!!!

Ron, you could get 2/3 of the House and Senate but never 3/4 of the States.
