Now this rollback or President Trump Gutting Environmental Protections will not make America Great any time.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, December 31st 2018 at 7:00PM

Scott Pruitt did head that agency was to kill that ban of that pesticide, with the potential to disturb the brains of Children. Why would Scott Pruitt want to willfully released this pesticide into the Americans fresh drinking water?

Now if The Trump administration had not quashed that ban, we would be entering our second year in this country without a drop of this chemical touching our crops today. This is are reality now, Remember this word: "Corpirosos" is a spectrum insecticide. It's essentially is a nerve agent, which is in the same class of Chemicals as SARIN GAS. Now Trump wants this chemical in our drinking water, did you see this Steve?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, December 31st 2018 at 10:51PM

Let us talk about Trump's efforts to keep the drinking waters of American's safe.

Steve Williams Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 12:30AM

I didn't see it Ron but tell me, what are the reasons to continue its use?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 3:27PM

YOUR QUESTION: I didn't see it Ron but tell me, what are the reasons to continue its use?

MY REPLY: Trump's Scott Pruitt effects of the EPA roll back. You need to take the time and review this report and you too will see what that means.

Steve Williams Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 4:44PM

I'm talking about the farmers Ron. What is their advantage to use it?

Steve Williams Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 4:46PM

P.S. Your "report" says nothing about that basic question.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 7:30PM

YOUR QUESTION: What is their advantage to use it?

MY REPLY: To use what Steve?

Steve Williams Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 8:04PM

What the hell are we talking about Ron? Corpirosos. WHAT IS ITS BENEFIT???

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 8:28PM

I don't have a clue but it was Scott Pruitt did head that agency was to kill that ban of that pesticide, with the potential to disturb the brains of Children. Why would Scott Pruitt want to willfully released this pesticide into the Americans fresh drinking water and food supply?

Steve Williams Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 9:21PM

Absolutely not Ron! Nowhere in this report does Trump say he wants this chemical in anyone's drinkin water!

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, January 1st 2019 at 10:46PM

Then why did President Trump Gut The Environmental Protections Agency under Scott Pruitt do just that, when they rolled back EPA regulation on this insecticide called "Corpirosos" which is in the same class of Chemicals as SARIN GAS to be used on our plant and vegetable food chain?

This well may be in there plans to kill off the poor both Black and White and we surely don't need this poison to be reintroduce to our food chain by The Trump administration.

Steve Williams Wednesday, January 2nd 2019 at 10:19AM

"The 6 young boys and 14 little girls, whose mothers were exposed to chlorpyrifos when it was commonly used indoors in bug sprays prior to the ban, ranged in age from seven to nearly 10."

Steve Williams Wednesday, January 2nd 2019 at 10:22AM

"The good news is that washing fruits and vegetables can rinse away lingering chlorpyrifos and, presumably, mitigate any risk. In addition, although chlorpyrifos can persist in indoor environments, it breaks down relatively quickly when exposed to sunlight and other natural elements."

YOUR REPLY: "The good news is that washing fruits and vegetables can rinse away lingering chlorpyrifos and, presumably, mitigate any risk. In addition, although chlorpyrifos can persist in indoor environments, it breaks down relatively quickly when exposed to sunlight and other natural elements."

That is what they are telling you Steve and you really want to believe them, don't you?. Now did you ever find out the answer to your question Steve, what are the reasons to continue its use?

"Corpirosos" which is in the same class of Chemicals as SARIN GAS to be used on our plant and vegetable food chain?

There is no good news for the use of "Corpirosos"

Let us explore what Joy had to say in her report. Corpirosos is a broad spectrum insecticide. it's essentially a nerve agent in the same class of chemicals as sarin gas. it can cause nausea and dizziness and confusion. in high doses, it can cause vomiting, convulsions, respiratory arrest, even death.

The people who make this pesticide say that in normal low-level doses it's perfectly safe. Some agricultural experts say the science is not conclusive. Part of why it's so hard to draw a conclusion is the pesticide is too toxic to be tested on humans. it's already banned for most household uses, but chlorpyofos is all over doss of American farms.

So a few years ago the EPA decided to study whether it was safe to dump all that pesticide into the air and on to our food. hand the EPA found was kind of alarming. they looked a the research that was done at Columbia University, and this was the headline from the Columbia study. common pesticide disturbs the brains of children. The EPA came to a similar conclusion. they found that exposure to chlropyorfos had had significant long-term consequences, like declines in learning and memory, especially on people who work on farms where the pesticide is used.

So the EPA suggested banning the use of chlorpyrofos on all food crops, full stop. But that ban never happened because Donald Trump became president. Trump picked Scott Pruitt to run the EPA. and one of the first things, the very first thing Scott Pruitt did as head of that agency was to kill that ban of that pesticide, with the potential to disturb the brains of children.

He said there was not enough science to justify a blanket ban, despite what the experts at the EPA had found before he got there. if the trump administration had not quashed that ban, we would be entering our second year in this country without a drop of that chemical touching our crops. instead, the pesticide hoses are still on, and "the new york times" has done some remarkable reporting on what that looks like for Americans on the ground.

Quote, in may of 2015, Vicenta Rivera was one of the first to feel it. it has been sprayed on a grove of mandarin oranges. numb lips, itchy skin and watery eyes. the headache set in quickly. a 37-year-old mother of three remembers the smell, the dizziness, the overwhelming feeling of nausea. other workers thought she was faking it, trying to be funny when she hit the ground and started convulsing. when the invisible but toxic cloud of chlorpyrifos arrived, she thought she smelled grease or burned oil. believing it was the tractor, she turned off the engine.

I'm still researching the EPA site. Are you in a hurry Ron?

Steve Williams Wednesday, January 2nd 2019 at 10:52PM

Why not just look at the EPA site?

EPA Actions and Regulatory History
Since its first registration in 1965, chlorpyrifos has been reviewed by EPA for tolerance reassessment, reregistration, and most recently, as part of its ongoing registration review. The following timeline summarizes the work EPA has done to ensure that as science and technology evolve registered chlorpyrifos products remain safe for use.
2000 – Voluntary Agreement to Eliminate, Phase Out and Modify Certain Uses
In 1996, the Food Quality Protection Act set a more stringent safety standard to be especially protective of children. After finalizing the chlorpyrifos risk assessments for reregistration, EPA identified the need to modify certain chlorpyrifos uses to meet the revised standard of safety, and to address health and environmental risks from chlorpyrifos exposure. In 2000, the registrants of chlorpyrifos voluntarily entered into an agreement with EPA to eliminate, phase out, and modify certain uses. Some examples of the voluntary cancellations and modifications in the agreement include:
Eliminating most homeowner uses, except ant and roach baits in child resistant packaging and fire ant mound treatments, and phasing out all termiticide uses.
Discontinuing all uses of chlorpyrifos products in the United States on tomatoes, restricting use on apples to pre-bloom and dormant application, and lowering the grape tolerance (maximum residue level) to reflect the labeled dormant application.
Read the 2006 Registration Eligibility Decision (RED) for chlorpyrifos, which finalized the 2002 Interim RED, and includes an overview of the chlorpyrifos human health risk assessment for reregistration.
2002 – Label Changes to Ensure Environmental and Worker Safety
In 2002, EPA made a number of changes to the required safety measures that improved safety for the environment and for those applying this pesticide including:
Use of buffer zones to protect water quality, fish and wildlife;
Reductions in application rates per season on a variety of crops including citrus and corn; and
Increase in amount of personal protective equipment to mitigate risk to agricultural workers.
2011 – Preliminary Human Health Risk Assessment
In 2011, as part of the registration review process, EPA completed a comprehensive preliminary human health risk assessment for all chlorpyrifos uses. This assessment included the results of extensive new research and the findings of a number of new studies that had become available since the agency’s last human health risk assessment for chlorpyrifos, completed in June 2000.
Read the 2011 human health risk assessment for chlorpyrifos.
2012 – Spray Drift Mitigation and Changes to Application Rates
In 2012, EPA significantly lowered the aerial pesticide application rates and created “no-spray” buffer zones for ground, airblast and aerial application methods around public spaces, including recreational areas, schools, homes and other sensitive areas to be protective of children and other bystanders.
Read the 2012 Spray Drift Mitigation Decision for chlorpyrifos.
2014 – Revised Human Health Risk Assessment
In 2014, as part of the registration review process, EPA completed a revised human health risk assessment for all chlorpyrifos uses. The assessment updated the June 2011 preliminary human health risk assessment based on new information received, including public comments. EPA factored in exposures from multiple sources including from the exposures from food and water, from inhaling the pesticide and through the skin. EPA considered all populations including infants, children, and women of child-bearing age. EPA incorporated information from a 2012 assessment of spray drift exposure and as well as new restrictions put into place to limit spray drift.

2016 – Revised Human Health Risk Assessment
After receiving public comments on the 2014 risk assessment and feedback from the FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel, EPA revised its human health risk assessment for chlorpyrifos in 2016.
Read the 2016 human health risk assessment for chlorpyrifos.
2017 – Denial of Petition to Revoke Tolerances
In March 2017, EPA denied a petition that asked us to revoke all pesticide tolerances (maximum residue levels in food) for chlorpyrifos and cancel all chlorpyrifos registrations. The Agency concluded that despite several years of study, the science addressing neurodevelopmental effects remains unresolved and further evaluation of the science during the remaining time for completion of registration review is warranted. As a part of the ongoing registration review, we will continue to review the science addressing neurodevelopmental effects of chlorpyrifos.
Read the Federal Register notice announcing our response to the petition.
On August 9, 2018, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered EPA to ban chlorpyrifos within 60 days. The following month, the Department of Justice asked the Ninth Circuit to reconsider its opinion.

Do you understand what the Trump Administration is doing Steve?

Steve Williams Thursday, January 3rd 2019 at 12:37AM

No Ron, I don't understand any of this.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, January 3rd 2019 at 9:55AM

Americans are going to get sick or even DIE because of this decision because the controls and limitations have been taken off of big business under this president. Why is he doing this?

Steve Williams Thursday, January 3rd 2019 at 10:22AM

You don't understand any of it either Ron. You don't need to pretend you do.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, January 3rd 2019 at 12:38PM

The Evidence is right here in front of you of what big business is doing. Wasn't it you who provided that look at the EPA site and this EPA time line? That was you, wasn't it?

Take your head out of your ass Steve, the evidence that you provided is right in front of you, RIGHT NOW. LOL!!!

Steve Williams Thursday, January 3rd 2019 at 1:42PM

No Ron, I'm not a chemist. But I know if you want fruit that doesn't have this chemical YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY A HIGHER PRICE FOR ORGANIC. Now tone down your extremism.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, January 3rd 2019 at 2:13PM

Steve, you never did answer my questions:

1. The Evidence is right here in front of you of what big business is doing. Wasn't it you who provided that look at the EPA site and this EPA time line? That was you, wasn't it?

Steve, You don't have to be a chemist to understand that we The People of The United States of America are being poison by big business for profit and the Trump administration has taken off the checks and balances to keep the people safe. Are you OK with that Steve?

Steve Williams Thursday, January 3rd 2019 at 6:31PM

I will tell you this Ron, I'm 1000 times environmentally conscious as you are. You are on a fool's errand.

Now you want to tell me how environmentally friendly you are. Steve I did not ask you that question. Now what I did ask you was this:

Steve, You don't have to be a chemist to understand that we The People of The United States of America are being poison by big business for profit and the Trump administration has taken off the checks and balances to keep the people safe. Are you OK with that Steve?

Steve Williams Saturday, January 5th 2019 at 8:55PM

I didn't say I was friendly Ron. What I said is that I understand the role you play alongside the insect. I know that you will not sacrifice your hard earned pennies to save the insects.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, January 5th 2019 at 10:07PM

So, you rather see American children at risk by revoking all pesticide tolerances (maximum residue levels in food) for chlorpyrifos and cancel all chlorpyrifos registrations. Why do you think that it is better for Americans to undergo such sickness, poisoning and death, for what Steve?

.

Steve Williams Saturday, January 5th 2019 at 11:15PM

Buy organic Ron and quit whining.

Steve Williams Saturday, January 5th 2019 at 11:19PM

Have you heard of a science called Economics Ron? Few Democrats have.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, January 5th 2019 at 11:29PM

Steve, I thought you was man enough to hold a conversation about what Trump and his EPA is doing to America, with the poisoning of America and the sad part is, now you know the truth about this poisoning is real and you don't give a danm about it. WoW!!!

Steve Williams Sunday, January 6th 2019 at 8:11AM

I'm willing to have a real conversation but this video is fake news Ron. You present about one ten-thousandths of the available information and turn it into nothing more than just another excuse to HATE TRUMP!! IMPEACH THE MOTHERFOCKER.!!

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, January 6th 2019 at 10:30AM

Steve Williams Sunday, January 6th 2019 at 7:56PM

Your statement, unsuccessfully disguised as a question, is 100 percent false Ron. The American people are being poisoned by their unrestrained appetites and the Democrats have foolishly put all their trust in Big Government, which has no power to check those appetites. AND, I don't need to be a chemist to know THAT.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, January 6th 2019 at 8:23PM

What I asked you was: 1. The Evidence is right here in front of you of what big business is doing. Wasn't it you who provided that look at the EPA site and this EPA time line? That was you, wasn't it?

Well I'll Be, you did post this information that show what the TRUMP'S EPA is doing, right before your very eye's. Now that you taken that quick peek at the truth, it is time to run like hell from my own work because this may shade more light on the Trump administration.

Steve, You don't have to be a chemist to understand that we The People of The United States of America are being poison by big business for profit and the Trump administration has taken off the checks and balances to keep the people safe.

I ASKED YOU: "Are you OK with that Steve?"

Steve Williams Sunday, January 6th 2019 at 9:05PM

The EPA isn't doing anything "right before my eyes" Ron. To determine what the EPA is doing would take far more time than I'm willing to spend. The same is true for you, but unlike me you are too dishonest to admit it. AND you ignorantly believe big government will get you out of any fix.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, January 6th 2019 at 10:12PM

The Evidence is in the time-line you posted, you found it and posted it to this blog.

YOUR COMMENT: you ignorantly believe big government will get you out of any fix.

MY REPLY: Once the more people awaken to this chlorpyrifos threat, the people will demand Big Business to comply, once that happens, you can ensure a safe environment for your children and your Grand children to grow up in, Don't you give damn about that Steve?

It's nonsensical to ask me if I'm "okay with that". I don't accept your "that" and I'm not willing to spend the time to find out what "that" really is. But I will remain suspicious of your reliance on Big Government. I will always have more faith in Big Business because Big Business is always more honest than Big Government.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, January 6th 2019 at 10:59PM

Can't you see who is head of the EPA a former COAL industry lobbyist and since July 9, 2018 Acting Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, NEWS FLASH STEVE, that is big business LYING to you who bought their way in this administration, under the PAY TO PLAY rule. Right in front of your very own eye's.

I ASKED YOU: The People of The United States of America are being poison by big business for profit and the Trump administration has taken off the checks and balances to keep the people safe. "Are you OK with that Steve?"

Steve Williams Monday, January 7th 2019 at 9:25AM

The keyword there is "former". The EPA head is now paid by the government. He works for Big Government now.

Using Chlorpyrifos Products Safely

The current chlorpyrifos labels require workers handling and applying chlorpyrifos to wear additional personal protective equipment (chemical resistant gloves, coveralls, respirators), and restricting entry into treated fields for 24 hours up to five days.
Chlorpyrifos can cause cholinesterase inhibition in humans at high enough doses; that is, it can overstimulate the nervous system causing nausea, dizziness, confusion, and at very high exposures (e.g., accidents or major spills), respiratory paralysis and death.

Hey Steve, do this sounds safe to you?

Steve Williams Monday, January 7th 2019 at 2:17PM

It sounds like a hazardous material Ron. Hazardous materials are all around us, lead for instance.

Steve Williams Monday, January 7th 2019 at 4:29PM

Any hazardous material has safe use requirements Ron. Chlorpyrifos is safe when proper storage, handling, and use precautions are followed.

Steve Williams Monday, January 7th 2019 at 4:35PM

Acute poisoning is probably most common in agricultural areas in Asia, where many small farmers are affected.[20] Poisoning may be due to occupational or accidental exposure or intentional self-harm. Precise numbers of chlorpyrifos poisonings globally are not available.[21] Pesticides are used in an estimated 200,000+ suicides annually with tens of thousands due to chlorpyrifos. Organophosphates are thought to constitute two thirds of ingested pesticides in rural Asia. Chlorpyrifos is among the commonly used pesticides used for self-harm.[20][21][22]

In the US, the number of incidents of chlorpyrifos exposure reported to the US National Pesticide Information Center shrank sharply from over 200 in the year 2000 to less than 50 in 2003, following the residential ban.[23]

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, January 7th 2019 at 4:50PM

How might I be exposed to chlorpyrifos?

People can be exposed to pesticides by eating them, breathing them in, or getting them on the skin or in the eyes. You could be exposed to chlorpyrifos if you apply products containing chlorpyrifos either as part of your job or outside of your own home. If a bait station in the house contains chlorpyrifos, people or pets could be exposed if the bait station is broken. People could be exposed to chlorpyrifos if their well water has been contaminated. This can happen if products containing chlorpyrifos were used near the well for termite control.

What are some signs and symptoms from a brief exposure to chlorpyrifos?
Chlorpyrifos affects the nervous system of people, pets, and other animals the same way it affects the target pest. Signs and symptoms can appear within minutes to hours after exposure. These effects can last for days or even weeks. During this time, the body is replacing the depleted enzymes in the nervous system so it can function normally again.

STEVE PAY ATTENTION: Exposure to small amounts of chlorpyrifos can cause runny nose, tears, and increased saliva or drooling. People may sweat, and develop headache, nausea, and dizziness. More serious exposures can cause vomiting, abdominal muscle cramps, muscle twitching, tremors and weakness, and loss of coordination. Sometimes people develop diarrhea or blurred or darkened vision. In severe poisoning cases, exposure can lead to unconsciousness, loss of bladder and bowel control, convulsions, difficulty in breathing, and paralysis.

What happens to chlorpyrifos when it enters the body?

Chlorpyrifos moves to all parts of the body after exposure. Chlorpyrifos itself is not toxic, but when the body tries to break it down, it creates a toxic form. This toxic form, called chlorpyrifos oxon, binds permanently to enzymes which control the messages that travel between nerve cells. When chlorpyrifos binds to too many of the enzymes, nerves and muscles do not function correctly. The body then must make more enzymes so that normal nerve function can resume. The body can break down and excrete most of the unbound chlorpyrifos in feces and urine within a few days. Chlorpyrifos that finds its way into the nervous system may stay there much longer.

Are children more sensitive to chlorpyrifos than adults?

Chorpyrifos exposure was linked to changes in social behavior and brain development as well as developmental delays in young laboratory animals. Other studies showed that chlorpyrifos affected the nervous system of young mice, rats, and rabbits more severely than adult animals.

Researchers studied the blood of women who were exposed to chlorpyrifos and the blood of their children from birth for three years. Children who had chlorpyrifos in their blood had more developmental delays and disorders than children who did not have chlorpyrifos in their blood. Exposed children also had more attention deficit disorders and hyperactivity disorders.

Chlorpyrifos,That is the chemical Big Business is spaying on are fruit and vegetable and getting into our water supply. Now Steve, "Are you OK with that Steve?"

Steve Williams Monday, January 7th 2019 at 5:29PM

The use of chlorpyrifos in agriculture can leave chemical residue on food commodities. The FFDCA requires EPA to set limits, known as tolerances, for pesticide residue in human food and animal feed products based on risk quotients for acute and chronic exposure from food in humans.[113][114] These tolerances limit the amount of chlorpyrifos that can be applied to crops. FDA enforces EPA's pesticide tolerances and determines “action levels” for the unintended drift of pesticide residues onto crops without tolerances.[115]

After years of research without a conclusion and cognizant of the court order to issue a final ruling, the EPA proposed to eliminate all tolerances for chlorpyrifos ("Because tolerances are the maximum residue of a pesticide that can be in or on food, this proposed rule revoking all chlorpyrifos tolerances means that if this approach is finalized, all agricultural uses of chlorpyrifos would cease.") and solicited comments.[116] The Dow Chemical Company is actively opposed to tolerance restrictions on chlropyrifos and is currently lobbying the White House to, among other goals, pressure EPA to reverse its proposal to revoke chlorpyrifos food residue tolerances.[117]

The EPA has not updated the approximately 112 tolerances pertaining to food products and supplies since 2006.[114][118] However, in a 2016 report, EPA scientists had not been able to find any level of exposure to the pesticide that was safe.[62] The EPA 2016 report states in part "...this assessment indicates that dietary risks from food alone are of concern..." the report also states that previous published risk assessments for "chlorpyrifos may not provide a [sufficient]...human health risk assessment given the potential for neurodevelopmental outcomes." [63]

″The ...[food only] exposures for chlorpyrifos are of risk concern ...for all population subgroups analyzed. Children (1–2 years old) is the population subgroup with the highest risk estimate at 14,000% of the ssPADfood.″[63]

Based on 2006 EPA rules, Chlorpyrifos has a tolerance of 0.1 part per million (ppm) residue on all food items unless a different tolerance has been set for that item or chlorpyrifos is not registered for use on that crop.[119] EPA set approximately 112 tolerances pertaining to food products and supplies.[114][118] In 2006, to reduce childhood exposure, the EPA amended its chlorpyrifos tolerance on apples, grapes and tomatoes, reducing the grape and apple tolerances to 0.01 ppm and eliminating the tolerance on tomatoes.[114] Chlorpyrifos is not allowed on crops such as spinach, squash, carrots, and tomatoes; any chlorpyrifos residue on these crops normally represents chlorpyrifos misuse or spray drift.[114]

Food handling establishments (places where food products are held, processed, prepared or served) are included in the food tolerance of 0.1 ppm for chlorpyrifos. Food handling establishments may use a 0.5% solution of chlorpyrifos solely for spot and/or crack and crevice treatments.[118] Food items are to be removed or protected during treatment. Food handling establishment tolerances may be modified or exempted under FFDCA sec. 408.[120]

Steve, I see that you still have not answered any of my questions, WHY?

Chlorpyrifos,That is the chemical Big Business is spaying on are fruit and vegetable and getting into our water supply. Now Steve, "Are you OK with that Steve?"

I'm still researching Ron. It turns out one of the top 5 crops where chlorpyrifos is used is almonds and bees are one of the species negatively impacted by its use. In the Central Valley, where I moved my family about 30 years ago, almonds are one of the main crops and bees are brought in by the farmers each year to pollinate the almonds. When the trees are shaken in the fall to dislodge the almonds, at that time of year my ex-wife always has respiratory problems.

Chlorpyrifos, could be her problem. "Are you OK with that Steve?"

Steve Williams Monday, January 7th 2019 at 9:48PM

Chlorpyrifos could be her problem or it could be something else. If it is chlorpyrifos, do you know Ron, the value of California's almond crop and how that value would change if chlorpyrifos is banned? Do you know how it would impact the price of almonds to the consumer?

"Steve, Are you OK with the use of this deadly poison Chlorpyrifos, Steve?"

Steve Williams Monday, January 7th 2019 at 11:26PM

I'm leaning that way. Ron, how many hungry mouths are there in the United States. How are all those hungry mouths satisfied?
