We must come together and talk, so we can understand the reason WHY?

Steve Williams Friday, April 12th 2019 at 6:24PM

Why are you worried about insulin costs Ron?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, April 12th 2019 at 7:04PM

Did you see this video report Steve? Because people are dying because they can't afford something as essential as insulin. Don't you give a damn about that Steve?

Steve Williams Friday, April 12th 2019 at 7:58PM

I mean you personally Ron. Why do YOU care?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, April 12th 2019 at 8:09PM

I am personally talking to you Steve.

Because people are dying because they can't afford something as essential as insulin. Don't you give a damn about that Steve?

Steve Williams Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 12:44AM

What I know Ron is I can get insulin at Walmart for $25 a vial.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 9:02AM

This blog is not about what you know or what you can afford. I did not want the see this cold hearted, selfish, narcissistic, narrow-minded and egomaniacal side of you but, this too is apart of you..

What about the people who can't afford $25 for something so essential as insulin, Steve? That is what this Blog is about. You did see this blog material, didn't you?

Steve Williams Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 10:06AM

If $25 a month is too expensive then I'd say you have unrealistic expectations Ron. If you want to do something to help then educate people how to make good choices to avoid becoming diabetic.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 10:20AM

You did see this blog material, didn't you?

Steve Williams Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 10:25AM

I'm trying to work up my resolve to listen to squeaky boy about an issue I've been living with for 20 years.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 10:26AM

You did see this blog material or not? $1,300 a month was mentioned to maintain insulin, for a 26 year old man.

Steve, care your ass back and see this video report so, you can know what you are talking about because you are looking real foolish, right now. WOW!!!!

Steve Williams Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 11:00AM

Now I've seen it Ron. There are a number of falsehoods, one of which is your $1300 lie.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 6:04PM

YOUR WORDS: ow I've seen it Ron. There are a number of falsehoods, one of which is your $1300 lie.

MY REPLY: Show me your evident, proving that Steve, can you do that on your very next reply?

Steve Williams Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 7:00PM

Let's do some math Ron. Insulin is about $0.28 per unit. 25 units is a substantial daily dose. 25 units a day for a month is $210. Are you telling me this guy was doing something like 120 units a day? Wow!

Steve Williams Sunday, April 14th 2019 at 2:51AM

Watch your mouth Ron. Go down to Walmart and ask what their price is for Novolin N (long acting) and Novolin R (short acting). Over the counter, not copay, they are $25. The reason is because of something else that Chris got wrong.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, April 14th 2019 at 10:21AM

If that is true, you need to shout that information to the roof tops because far to many Americans are dying because Steve, At the same hearing, a father from Maine told senators that a 90-day prescription for just one of his son's insulins would cost him $1,489.46.

Steve Williams Sunday, April 14th 2019 at 11:23AM

The situation with long acting insulin and short acting insulin is different. Both Novolin N and Novolin R are human insulin. My doctor is okay with me using the short acting Novolin R, taken with meals. I had an interesting experience at Walmart regarding this one. The clerk accidentally pulled Novolog instead of Novolin, and it rang up at something like $250. I got a look at the packaging and it looked like the difference between Novolin and Novolog is the packaging. I'm going to ask my doctor about this.

Steve Williams Sunday, April 14th 2019 at 11:32AM

My doctor doesn't approve Novolin N because it's human insulin, as opposed to the modern long acting insulins like Lantus. It needs to be taken every 12 hours and Lantus and the others are every 24 hours. Lantus costs me $30 a month through Part D but I stayed alive for 2 years using Novolin N, until I recently got back on Part D. For some time before I was able to enroll in Part D my doctor gave me samples which the suppliers are happy to provide.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, April 14th 2019 at 5:01PM

That is great news Steve and I hope that part D continues function that way, since that of Trump threat to overhaul Medicare is over.

Unfortunately, this was a 26 year old man who needed insulin who died because that young man was kicked off his fathers insurance and that is what cost his son, for a 90-day prescription for just one of his son's insulins would cost him $1,489.46 a month to live.

YOUR WORDS: Why are you worried about insulin costs Ron?

MY REPLY: Because people are dying because they can't afford something as essential as insulin.

Now that you know how much it cost for people living with diabetes without health insurance are you Alright with the high RUNAWAY cost of insulin?
