The chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings, said Friday that his panel would vote next week on whether to hold Attorney General Bill Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt after they failed to cooperate with a probe into adding a citizenship question to the 2020 census.

"We gave Attorney General Barr and Secretary Ross every opportunity to produce the documents the Committee needs for our investigation, but rather than cooperate, they have decided that they would rather be held in contempt of Congress," Cummings, a Maryland Democrat, said in a statement.

"They produced none of the documents we asked for, they made no counter-offers regarding these documents, and they seem determined to continue the Trump administration’s cover-up," he added.

A representative for Cummings did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment but in a statement earlier this month said that the failure of Barr and Ross to respond to the Oversight subpoenas was “part of a pattern” by the administration to engage in a “cover-up” and challenge the authority of Congress to conduct constitutionally required oversight.

Cummings is lying Ron. You'll have to wait for the court's decision, too bad.

What do you think is the reason why BARR failed to respond to the Oversight subpoenas, Steve?
