Revelation of Russian backer stirs remorse on Kentucky plant

Kentucky State Representative Kelly Flood talks with Rachel Maddow about her reservations about supporting a new aluminum plant in Kentucky now that much of the financing for the project comes from a previously sanctioned Russian company founded by the still-sanctioned oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

I think Rep. Flood is spinning the story Ron. The $15 million appropriation was approved April 30, 2017. What happened between then and when the Senate voted to lift sanctions? How much time passed between those 2 events Ron and do you think Rep. Flood could explain that in a couple minutes? I sure as hell don't.

Ron, it was TWO YEARS AFTER the Kentucky Legislature voted for a $15 million authorization until the President lifted sanctions against Russia. There's no connection between the two.

Since you said that you saw this report several times, Did you understand that it was a big push from the Governors Office for this project and they was told that little could be reveal at the time in order to keep Kentucky competitive against another state vying for the project.
