Did Moscow Mitch give up his Senate powers to Trump?
It's in the Constitution Ron. One of the things the President does is suggest legislation. Donald J. Trump is the only one that can make this deal.
"[The President] shall from time to time...recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient...."

The Senate Majority Leader, usually a critical player in resolving Congressional deadlocks, has been missing in action in the current government shutdown debate. More than that, he has essentially ceded legislative power to the president when he said that he would not allow a Senate vote on any bill he wasn’t sure the president would sign into law.
Our Kentucky senior senator is under fire from many directions, which rarely fazes him, but his op-ed was an unusually clumsy attempt to mislead, mischaracterize and deceive.
It is also in The Constitution that the senate has the power to oversee the executive branch of Goverment, which Moscow Mitch apparently have given that power to Trump.
Why are you talking about executive branch oversight?
Because oversight over of the executive branch, is just one of the jobs of the Senate which, Mascow Mitch is not doing since we are talking about the duties stated in The Constitution, Steve.
Now do you think Mascow Mitch is doing his job of oversight over of the executive branch by holding back passed bypardison bills because he thinks Trump will veto them?
No Ron, he's just not wasting his and the Senate's time. Have you bothered to petition the President? That is one of YOUR duties.
Steve, I am talking about bills, Bipardison bills that have already passed the House that Moscow Mitch is holding and not those bill Reach the Senate for a vote, don’t you understand that Steve?
Obviously Ron, the bills aren't bipartisan if the Senate won't even debate them.
This is just one of the reasons why The Leader of The U.S. Senate is called Moscow Mitch because he is seen as doing the will of Putin by dismantling democracy.
What are the other reasons?
Now you know that in Texas 7 people was killed and 25 Americans was wounded by an assault rifle, when Moscow Mitch McConnell was asked about GUN SAFETY LEGISLATION, He created a new poerating priinciple for The United States Senate. This is the latest of many new Moscow Mitch rules that he has introduced as Majority leader that stifle Democracy.
Moscow Mitch said: "If the president took a position on a bill, so that we knew we would actually be making a law and not just having serial votes, I'd be happy to put it on the floor." It is like Mitch is protecting the president from himself, let Trump use his veto power if Trump don't like bill that senate puts on his desk, that is how the founding Fathers intended of The Constitution, to work and now this BULL💩 from Moscow Mitch.
Steve, that is not the job of the Senate
If the Senate could only debate bills that are guaranteed to pass and become a LAW, be signed by the president, then here's a small sample of things (LAWS) that would never have become the law of the land. Social Security, voting Right Act, Medicare, Medicaid, The Affordable Care would not have been passed if Moscow would have enacted his policies.
Is those reason enough malfeasance for you Steve?

McConnell is 100% correct, the President needs to lead the discussion on universal background checks. The first hurdle is to point out the Constitutional authority for it.
