After 11 hours of fierce argument, lawmakers voted almost entirely along party lines to impeach the president on charges that he abused his office and obstructed Congress.

Ron, Trump is not officially impeached until the articles are sent to the Senate. Nancy can't hold them back without violating Article 1, Section 3, Clause 6 of the Constitution.

The House has done it's job and Donald J. Trump has been Impeached.

The Constitution is quite clear about what the Senate can do when presented with a House-approved impeachment, in Article I, Section 3, Clause 7:

"Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States."

In other words, the Senate can vote to remove the president and to disqualify him or her from holding future office.
