Rev. Sharpton Speaks Ahead Of Derek Chauvin's Trial

Rev. Al Sharpton and the family of George Floyd spoke before the beginning of Derek Chauvin's trial in Minneapolis, Minn. He said that "justice must be intentional and deliberate," condemning the actions of Derek Chauvin and calling for everyone in attendance to take a knee in honor of George Floyd.

Sharpton is a disgrace the way he uses people. The trial will determine guilt and punishment. Sharpton is just trying to provoke a riot so he'll jave a fresh crop of victims to make money on their misery. May he burn in hell.

May the family of George Floyd, hear the words: "GUILTY" as charged for the murder of George Floyd based on the evidence presented in this Trial. Those opening statements for the prosecution has taped evidence of a police officer drag George Floyd out of the back seat of the police car, handcuffed, laid in the streets face down with a knee in the back of Floyd Neck as he begged for his life saying "I CAN'T BREATHE" 27 times for over 9:29 minutes stopping he from breathing.

Regardless of what charges the jury finds Derek Chauvin guilty of or not, it doesn't justify Sharpton and Crump inciting another riot.

That's what Sharpton and the mob think. I don't know what the jury will say Ron. I made my position clear at the time Floyd was killed and several of the witnesses today said the same thing I did then. It was only 10 months ago that Floyd was killed. It's almost 4 YEARS since MY son was murdered and his killer still has not been tried. Nobody is whipping up the country for me. My son's death isn't the money maker Floyd's is.

Then you should understand the feeling of helplessness that the family of George Floyd is feeling when they get this close to justice.

Did you see the look on Police Officer Derek Chauvin's face when Floyd stop moving, he still kept his knee on the back of the neck of George Floyd, for 3 more minutes?

The most heart breaking thing I heard yesterday was Darnella Frazier saying how at night she would say to George Floyd how sorry she was.

"You can't win!" Charles McMillan can be heard telling Floyd over and over again in videos of the arrest.

One of the first to notice the arrest, McMillan, 61, pulled off his white spectacles and dropped his head into his hands in tears as he watched video of himself stood near Floyd as they dying man called out for his recently deceased mother. The court recessed for about 10 minutes so McMillan could gather himself.

McMillan, who that day was dressed in flip-flops, shorts and a black t-shirt, was one of the last people to speak with Floyd.

"Get up and get in the car," McMillan says to Floyd.

"I can't," Floyd replies in an agonized voice from beneath Chauvin.

McMillan summarized his thinking to the jury: "Once police get the cops on you, you can't win, so I'm trying to tell him to just cooperate."

After Floyd's limp body was loaded into an ambulance, Chauvin got into a police car, and McMillan walked over: "I don't respect what you did," he told the officer

"I had to control this guy because he's a sizeable guy," Chauvin replies through the window. "It looks like he's probably on something."

I am asking you about something that we both see can by way of video and you can see what I can see. Now with that said, I asked you about your opinion of what YOU saw.

I don't think "EXCESSIVE FORCE" is one of the charges.

For a conviction of second-degree unintentional murder, the state's prosecutors will have to show beyond a reasonable doubt that Chauvin caused Floyd's death while assaulting him.

Third-degree murder requires prosecutors to prove that someone caused the death of another "by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life."

In order to convict Chauvin of second-degree manslaughter, prosecutors will need to show beyond a reasonable doubt that he was "culpably negligent" and took an "unreasonable risk" with Floyd's life when he restrained him and that his actions put Floyd at risk of death or great harm.

Now we both saw the evidence and now millions of people have seen that evidence and with that explanation of was there DEADLY FORCE used and Chauvin supervisor testified to in court saying "YES" and that procedure is NOT taught at The Police Academy, then it looks like justice for Chauvin will be served for a long time.

If it isn't served to Sharpton's taste, he's poised with the mob. That's the subject here. Did you see all the bodycam footage? I say things went south from the moment Lane banged on Floyd's window. Have you ever had a policeman pull a gun on you Ron?

Chauvin's lawyers so far have had four bad trial days in Police Officer Chauvin's defense.

Officer Lane is more responsible for Floyd's death than Chauvin.
