Douglas MacMillan, reporter for the Washington Post, talks with Rachel Maddow about the shady background of the Chinese company helping Donald Trump take his new media company public.

Here comes Donald J Trump by way of China.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, December 24th 2021 at 11:44PM

The Chinese is bringing you Donald J Trump and this is the man you want to put back as President of The United States of America?

Steve Williams Saturday, December 25th 2021 at 9:31PM

You sound like an anti-Asian bigot Ron. How does that work when you're a lib?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, December 26th 2021 at 9:16AM

It sounds like TRUMP was an anti-Asian bigot Steve and you cheered TRUMP on at the time. Steve, did you see this report and these false, dummy Chinese companies backing TRUMP'S campaign?

Is this what you want for the man you are backing Steve?

Steve Williams Monday, December 27th 2021 at 12:05PM

I saw the report Ron. I don't trust any of Rachel's reports. I signed up for Trump's new social TRUTH site the moment it was announced. I don't pay any attention to the financial markets. Trump can do the financing any way he wants, and of course I'm pro-Chinese so no problem there.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, December 27th 2021 at 7:03PM

You are an American, Steve. Why are you pro-Chinese, You want A (Communist) government promoting an American President, WHY STEVE?

You don't have to believe Rachel's reports, here's another source Trump’s newest business partner: a Chinese firm with a history of securities investigations https://www.adn.com/nation-world/2021/12/2...

WOW!!!

Ron, Chinese communism is more democratic than American democracy. You should take a lesson.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, December 28th 2021 at 11:38AM

That is a LIE and you know it Steve!

The Head of our U.S. Government was put in leadership by the people of The United States of America. Now the Chinese government is an Autocracy. "I've known Xi Jinping for a long time. ... He doesn't have a democratic -- with a small 'd' -- bone in his body," said Joe Biden in his first press conference as president,

The debate over democracy in China has been a major ideological battleground in Chinese politics since the 19th century. Currently, China is not a democracy. It is an authoritarian state which has been characterized as a totalitarian surveillance state, and a dictatorship.

The Constitution of the People's Republic of China (PRC) states that its form of government is "people's democratic dictatorship". Modern Chinese leaders state that they run a "socialist democracy" in which the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is the central authority that acts in the interest of the people and approves which political parties can run.

During a visit to Europe in 2014, CCP general secretary Xi Jinping said that a multi-party system would not work for China. He said China had experimented in the past with various political systems, including multi-party democracy, warning that copying foreign political or development models could be catastrophic because of its unique historical and social conditions.

Elections in the People's Republic of China are based on a hierarchical electoral system, whereby local People's Congresses are directly elected. All higher levels of People's Congresses up to the National People's Congress (NPC), the national legislature, are indirectly elected by the People's Congress of the level immediately below.[1] The NPC Standing Committee may partially alter laws passed by the NPC when the NPC is not in session, which is significant since the Standing Committee meets more frequently than the NPC.[2]

Governors, mayors, and heads of counties, districts, townships and towns are in turn elected by the respective local People's Congresses.[3] Presidents of people's courts and chief procurators of people's procuratorates are elected by the respective local People's Congresses above the county level.[3] The President and the State Council are elected by the National People's Congress, which is made of 2981 people.

Elections in China occur under a single-party authoritarian political system.[4][5][6][7] Elections occur only at the local level, not the national level.[4][8] China is among few contemporary party-led dictatorships to not hold any direct elections at the national level.[9] The competitive nature of the elections is highly constrained by the Communist Party’s monopoly on power in China, limitations on free speech, and government interference with the elections.[10][11] According to Rory Truex, "the CCP tightly controls the nomination and election processes at every level in the people’s congress system... the tiered, indirect electoral mechanism in the People’s Congress system ensures that deputies at the highest levels face no semblance of electoral accountability to the Chinese citizenry."[12]

TIGHTLY CONTROL, This is what you want for this country, don't you?

Steve Williams Tuesday, December 28th 2021 at 8:47PM

That's exactly how our Constitution originally laid it out. There was NO direct "electoral accountability" for Senators and NO direct "electoral accountability" for President. The People directly elected their Representatives, and had to reelect them after only two years. That was intentionally to constrain the ignorant masses and it was a BETTER form of democracy Ron. But n America our leaders corrupted that vision and began to allow the ignorant masses to choose the President directly AND NOW AMERICAN DEMOCRACY IS A MISERABLE FAILURE.

The Chinese have a successful form of democracy because the leadership is elected indirectly by the office holders in the lower eschelons. China is strong and America is WEAK AND EFFEMINATE.

Delegates to the Constitutional Convention in 1787 argued over a lot of things, but one of their biggest debates was over how the United States should elect its president. Steve, do you see how long Founding Fathers came up with the plan of Electing the President.

The result of this struggle was the "Electoral College,"

landslide is a system by which the American people vote not for president and vice president, but for a smaller group of people, known as electors. These electors then cast their votes directly for president and vice president, at a meeting held several weeks after the general election.

There are 538 total electors, including one for each U.S. senator and representative and three electors representing the District of Columbia, and presidential candidates need a majority of 270 votes to win the White House.

You do remember goal of reaching the goal of getting 270 Electoral don't you? This is a goal that TRUMP never did reach. The ballots were cast by individual electors in all 50 states and the District of Columbia mirror their state’s popular vote, and Biden won 306 votes to Trump’s 232 votes.

TRUMP lost by a landslide and this is something you know Steve. WOW!!!

This is how TRUMP Lost, Got It Steve?

Steve Williams Wednesday, December 29th 2021 at 10:11AM

No Ron, WE haven't gotten it yet. How were your Electors chosen? They are chosen my agreement between the Democrat Party and the Republican Party. There is nothing legal about it.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Wednesday, December 29th 2021 at 11:50AM

YOUR WORDS: How were your Electors chosen?

MY REPLY: That my friend is done by the states. States Rights applies in this case.

Steve Williams Thursday, December 30th 2021 at 4:49AM

Are the States constrained by the "popular vote" when they select Electors?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, December 30th 2021 at 11:50AM

No... Because the Electors are following THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE by their VOTES. How is it done in your state Steve?
