Obamas Welcomed Back to White House as Biden Unveils Their Portraits
Justin Sink and Jordan Fabian -

(Bloomberg) -- President Joe Biden hosted former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama for the unveiling of their official portraits at the White House, calling them “two dear friends, and two great Americans.”

“Barack and Michelle, welcome home,” Biden said Wednesday at a boisterous event in the White House’s East Room.

“It’s great to be back,” Obama said later, adding that Biden became “a true partner and a true friend” as his vice president.

The ceremony was partly a celebration of the Obamas’ historic role as the first Black family to reside in the White House and partly a reunion for the former running mates -- and hundreds of staffers who served across both administrations.

Biden called the portraits “a reminder for all here and now, and for those that come to power, that hope and change matters.”

Brothers and Sisters here on Black In America, just in case you missed this time in history and want to see it again please, take your time and enjoy.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, September 11th 2022 at 3:55PM

How did you like this video presentation?

Steve Williams Tuesday, September 13th 2022 at 2:36AM

It was very disturbing.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, September 13th 2022 at 1:30PM

What is disturbing about the Video presentation Steve?

Steve Williams Tuesday, September 13th 2022 at 7:26PM

It's cynical and divisive Ron. One more provocation from Biden to America. Like the "MAGA Republican" "semi-fascist" comments at the nation's birthplace. Like the b-itch's IRA "celebration" today as inflation hits a sustained new high.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, September 13th 2022 at 7:34PM

It's cynical and divisive you say. What part of this 10:55 Video presentation is cynical and divisive, on what subject Steve?

Steve Williams Tuesday, September 13th 2022 at 8:20PM

Why did Biden bring the Obamas to the White House Ron? He should have brought the Trumps.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, September 13th 2022 at 9:29PM

What part of this 10:55 Video presentation is cynical and divisive, on what subject Steve?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, September 13th 2022 at 11:09PM

Well… It looks like we will not get an answer from Steve, tonight. I hope that I did not run from my question, you think!

Steve Williams Wednesday, September 14th 2022 at 12:06AM

I'm so glad I could satisfy you "tonight", Ron. I call these words, the BIGGEST LIE:

"Joe, it is now America's good fortune to have you as President. You have guided us through some perilous times...Thanks to your decency and thanks to your strength...the country is better off than when you took office, and we should all be grateful for that, so thank you so much."

That's why I say it's cynical and divisive. Is that clear Ron?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Wednesday, September 14th 2022 at 2:19AM

Where is the cynical and divisive part, I don’t see the LIES in these words because this country has been through some perilous times after TRUMP and the country is now looking better under Biden, then the country ever did under Trump and that is a FACT.

Steve Williams Wednesday, September 14th 2022 at 2:15PM

Perilous times yes Ron, and they are CAUSED by Biden. That is the FACT. For example, TWO MILLION illegal immigrants in 2022 so far and our nation is at far more risk from that than from so-called "DOMESTIC terrorism. 200,000 unvetted Afghanis, THAT is perilous, Inflation through the roof. THAT IS PERILOUS. Joe Biden hasn't seen us SAFELY through a god damned thing!

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Wednesday, September 14th 2022 at 3:50PM

Biden brought this country through the many LIES Trump told you Steve and you still believe to this very day still. This was one of the first LIES Trump told you.

The most telling lie: It didn't rain on his inauguration
Trump began his presidency by lying about the weather.

It rained during Trump's inaugural address. Then, at a celebratory ball later that day, Trump told the crowd that the rain "just never came" until he finished talking and went inside, at which point "it poured."

This was the first lie of Trump's presidency. Like his lies that same week about his inauguration crowd, it hinted at what would come next.
The President would say things that we could see with our own eyes were not true. And he would often do this brazen lying for no apparent strategic reason.

I am sure you remember the lie Trump told about having The coronavirus was under control. This was more like a family of lies than a single lie. But each one -- the lie that the virus was equivalent to the flu; the lie that the situation was "totally under control"; the lie that the virus was "disappearing" -- suggested to Americans that they didn't have to change much about their usual behavior.

A year into the crisis, more than 386,000 Americans have died from the virus. Steve that LIE is GONE NOW.

The ugliest smear lie: Rep. Ilhan Omar supports al Qaeda

At a White House event in 2019, Trump grossly distorted a 2013 quote from Rep. Ilhan Omar to try to get his supporters to believe that the Minnesota Democrat had expressed support for the terrorist group al Qaeda.

Trump went on to deliver additional bigoted attacks against Omar in the following months. But it's hard to imagine a more vile lie for the President to tell about a Muslim official -- who had already been getting death threats -- than a smear that makes her sound pro-terrorist.

Steve Williams Wednesday, September 14th 2022 at 10:19PM

Ron, Trump willingly risked exposure to COVID to set an example for America: Don't shut down, don't be fearful like cowards like Biden. He braved exposure and he caught COVID as a result, when seniors like our own Harry were tragic victims of the deadly virus, thousand upon thousands, before any vaccination (one of Trump's many gifts to America) had come to our rescue. Trump led the way with his unselfish courage, and folks like you and Biden cowered in your basements.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Wednesday, September 14th 2022 at 10:30PM

Can't you see Steve, that LIE Trump told you and the American people The coronavirus was under control when it was not! That lie cost more than 386,000 Americans have died from the COVID virus, when he did not have to, all Trump wanted to do was to look good WOW!!!

Steve Williams Thursday, September 15th 2022 at 12:54AM

Don't you remember that at that very time Ron, the Dow lost 3000 points in 3 days? That was the panic Trump was worried about. To say he caused needless deaths is pure ignorance.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, September 15th 2022 at 7:11AM

The stock market Rises and falls but The Dow Jones industrial market is higher now than it ever was in trumps tenure.
Unemployment is down to 3.2% that’s lower then Trump or any President since WWII.

Steve, will have Drifted way from the subject of this blog: “ President Joe Biden hosted former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama for the unveiling of their official portraits at the White House, calling them “two dear friends, and two great Americans.” Now that is the subject and a topic I agree with.

Steve are those paintings almost looks like photos to you?

Ron, I was talking about the Dow losing 3000 points in THREE DAYS in March 2020. Trump stopped the panic and initiated "15 days to slow the spread." Ron, I did not drift, you did. I told you what Obama said about Biden was a lie and that's why I thought the event was "cynical and divisive."Would you like to prove otherwise?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, September 15th 2022 at 9:44AM

Steve, No one can argue with President Joe Biden’s job record—more than 9.5 million unemployed Americans found jobs over the past 18 months, and the unemployment rate fell from 6.4 to 3.5 percent. More Americans are working now, then under Trump.

Over all of the “pain at the pump” stories, the answer is that wages and salaries have kept pace with inflation since Biden took office—and by this measure, most Americans are much better off than before the pandemic hit in 2020, and before he took office in 2021.

Steve Williams Thursday, September 15th 2022 at 9:22PM

Wages have not kept pace with inflation Ron. More importantly, social security recipients have no chance of keeping up with this rate of inflation.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, September 15th 2022 at 9:46PM

So you admit, agreeing with me at the fact, that more than 9.5 million unemployed Americans found jobs over the past 18 months, and the unemployment rate fell from 6.4 to 3.5 percent. More Americans are working now, than under Trump.

Steve Williams Friday, September 16th 2022 at 1:03AM

What's the labor participation rate Ron? P.S. I don't care about the unemployment rate. For many years I was employable but I experienced age discrimination. The government didn't do a damn thing for me. Now I get back in social security a FRACTION of what I paid into it, and I am at the high end of the possible ammount most SS recipients get much less than I do. Inflation is hard enough on me and even harder on them. TZhe Democrats went hog wild with pandedmic and post-pandemic spending and now we all must pay the price. All the government spending made people lazy and now they don't want to work. Your unemployment rate MEANS NOTHING.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, September 16th 2022 at 3:17AM

So, for you, you don’t give a damn about the low the unemployment rate, OK

Steve, The math may sound complex, but in fact it’s simple: In June 2022, the average working American earned $74,643 in wages and salaries, compared to $74,624 in January 2021 and $70,274 in February 2020. Even with 9.5 million more people working, the average working person earned as much in June, after inflation, as when Biden took office. And compared to just before the pandemic, when employment was comparable to today, the average person earns 6.2 percent even after inflation. The answer to Reagan’s question is “Yes” on wages and salaries as well as jobs, a remarkable achievement given the pandemic.

Under Biden, Americans are better off in other ways, too. The Center on Poverty & Social Policy at Columbia University reports that the poverty rate, which reached 16.1 percent in December 2020, fell sharply under Biden to 14.1 percent by May 2022. It’s the same story on health care coverage: The Department of Health and Human Services reported that from late 2020 to early 2022, the percentage of uninsured Americans fell from 14.5 percent to 11.8 percent among adults (ages 18 to 64) and from 6.4 percent to 3.7 percent among children, both record lows.

Steve Williams Sunday, September 18th 2022 at 5:42PM

"So, for you, you don’t give a damn about the low the unemployment rate, OK"

Ron, I said nothing "about the low the unemployment rate,"

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Sunday, September 18th 2022 at 6:47PM

I am still telling you Steve, that Americans are better off under Biden, then the nation was under Trump. Here’s another quick point Steve, the reason why I say we are better off under Biden then we was under Trump. Under Biden he passed a law to Reduce cost for senior citizen for our out of pocket Prescription drugs cost. Steve, not one Republican wanted to extend that right to senior citizens, they did not vote for this bill but under Biden, we got it.

This marks another milestone pass for The low and middle class Citizens of United States of America.

Now Steve, don’t bring me that service lip show me on this blog, show me that facts and not your opinion, facts Steve, I want to see FACTS to back up your statement.

Steve Williams Monday, September 19th 2022 at 7:17AM

Here's a fact Ron:

"The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) calculates a few different unemployment rates. The primary, or official, unemployment rate is the rate that the government uses to make decisions, such as the monetary policy. This is the traditional rate that only includes the unemployment of persons who have no job but are actively seeking employment."

https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/caree...

What I want you to tell me is, what is the rate of those who are unemployed but NOT looking for a job?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, September 19th 2022 at 11:19AM

There is no such poll taken Steve. Why are you looking for something that does not exist.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, September 19th 2022 at 11:44AM

No one can argue with President Joe Biden’s job record—more than 9.5 million unemployed Americans found jobs over the past 18 months, and the unemployment rate fell from 6.4 to 3.5 percent.

Whether Americans’ incomes are higher is more complicated, because the pandemic disrupted the economy in so many ways. First, GDP collapsed in 2020, and unemployment soared—followed by massive public spending that extended into Biden’s term in 2021 and helped us recover. But supply problems, especially energy, ignited inflation, and spending, worsened it. While the fast-rising employment has produced a record 14.9 percent surge in overall wage and salary income since Biden took office, how much has inflation eaten away at those unparalleled gains?

For all of the “pain at the pump” stories, the answer is that wages and salaries have kept pace with inflation since Biden took office—and by this measure, most Americans are much better off than before the pandemic hit in 2020, and before he took office in 2021.

Steve Williams Tuesday, September 20th 2022 at 12:42AM

It's not a POLL Ron, it"s a RATE.

The BLS Glossary gives this definition: “Labor force participation rate- The labor force as a percent of the civilian noninstitutional population.”

But further research on the BLS site leads you to this expanded explanation:

The labor force participation rate is the percentage of the [civilian noninstitutional] population that is either employed or unemployed (that is, either working or actively seeking work)

- People with jobs are employed.
- People who are jobless, looking for a job, and available for work are unemployed.
- The labor force is made up of the employed and the unemployed.
- People who are neither employed nor unemployed are not in the labor force.

How can you be neither employed nor unemployed? A rational person would think that you had to be one or the other. According to the BLS definition… long-term unemployed people are defined out of existence and therefore are neither employed nor unemployed. They are roughly 40% of the population not participating in the labor force.

Ron, the election is going to prove you are wrong with your bs blustering. The election will PROVE that America is NOT better off under Biden. Less than 2 months and you will have PROOF BEYOND DOUBT.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, September 20th 2022 at 7:16AM

News Flash Steve, I am not talking about sometime in the future, I am talking from the power of FACTS, recent records, evidence Steve. You can’t talk to me about Current events which are one day commenting answers. You are all over the place, what are you saying? Americans was better under Trump?

Bring the answer with you sooner than tomorrow? Can you pick up your pace.

Steve Williams Tuesday, September 20th 2022 at 8:56AM

If I answer faster Ron, I'll just wear myself out, because your denseness knows no limit. There is no doubt that Americans were better off under Trump. The proof of the pudding (my assertion) lies in the future, in a few short weeks, when you will see a true wave election, and not in the Democrats' favor. You think you can change that by bringing Obama in on the excuse of the vanity of some pictures, to give Biden and his ilk a little pep talk??

I told you Ron, my vision is impaired, so cool your heels.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, September 20th 2022 at 9:44PM

Wow Steve, is this all you got? So, the fact that I have put before you is current and Trump’s administration is awful and the record shows that Americans are better off under the Biden Administration then we was under Trump. Stop it Steve, you can’t find anybody to say the opposite.

Steve, did you know that Republicans are dropping their support for Trump, have you noticed that?

Mainly because of this question “ why did trump have top-secret papers at Mar-a-Lago in the first place? Did Trump share that answer with you?

Steve Williams Wednesday, September 21st 2022 at 2:21AM

President Trump did share that information with me Ron. The answer to your question is, because the President himself created that top secret information.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Wednesday, September 21st 2022 at 8:26PM

That’s BULL💩 Steve and you know that!!! So, you are saying those highly classified, top-secret material, is the property of Donald J Trump, is that right Steve?

Steve Williams Thursday, September 22nd 2022 at 5:14AM

That's right Ron, the private love letters from Kim Jong-un to President Trump are President Trump's personal property.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, September 22nd 2022 at 10:35AM

I am NOT talking about no private love letters from Kim Jong-un to President Trump Steve. What I am talking about is those files that were clearly marked "TOP SECRET" found in his desk at mar - a lago in Florida.

Steve, did you hear what Trump said about his powers to declassify Top Secret material by just thinking of it? MAN!!! They is POWERFUL, RIGHT?

Steve Williams Thursday, September 22nd 2022 at 2:52PM

The President is talking about intent Ron. His intent was to declassify all those documents and his intent was effected when he took the then declassified documents to Mar-a-Lago. Plus, you're just like Charlie Brown, so easy to troll with a statement like that, "about his powers to declassify Top Secret material by just thinking of it? MAN!!!" ROFLOL!!!

About North Korea, just think about it Ron. Kim Jong-un shared top-secret information about his nuclear capabilities with President Trump, information he would never share with scairdy cat Obama.

Steve Williams Thursday, September 22nd 2022 at 3:00PM

Or maybe Ron, you think President Trump was not Commander-in-Chief of the Intelligence Community?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, September 22nd 2022 at 4:54PM

YOUR QUESTION: Or maybe Ron, you think President Trump was not Commander-in-Chief of the Intelligence Community?

MY REPLY: YES he was Commander-in-Chief of the Intelligence Community. How do you think Trump got his hands on that TOP SECRET material?

You said: "The President is talking about intent" No Steve, these words came out of Trump's mouth.

Donald Trump Says He Declassified 'Everything' Before Mar-a-Lago Search: 'There Doesn't Have to be a Process' https://news.yahoo.com/donald-trump-says-d...

Donald Trump says he declassified documents 'just by thinking about it' as president https://uk.news.yahoo.com/donald-trump-say...

Steve, this is what TRUMP said on FOX NEWS on the Sean Hannity's show Wednesday and said, almost unbelievably, "If you're the President of the United States, you can declassify just by saying, 'It's declassified," even by thinking about it." The absurdity continued ... "There doesn't have to be a process, there can be a process, but there doesn't have to be," adding, "You're the President, you make that decision."
DONALD TRUMP
Ok, So How's This ...
I CAN DECLASSIFY DOCUMENTS JUST BY THINKING ABOUT IT!!! https://www.tmz.com/2022/09/22/donald-trum...

Steve, I am talking about what TRUMP said out of his very own mouth STEVE and you can watch him repeat that LIE with your own eyes to Steve. TOP SECRET material must go through a U.S. Government procedure to protect our nation's secrets, which means PAPERWORK. Can you find that paperwork, Steve?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, September 22nd 2022 at 5:03PM

By the way, Steve, pick up your pace in your replies because this is a very interesting topic and I know you can think faster than that.

Steve Williams Thursday, September 22nd 2022 at 6:22PM

"TOP SECRET material must go through a U.S. Government procedure to protect our nation's secrets, which means PAPERWORK."

That would mean Trump was not the Commander-in-Chief Ron. That would mean some bureaucratic U.S. Government procedure TRUMPS the President and President Trump and I say that's absolute rubbish.

BTW, I watched Hannity last night and what they won't tell you is that the rest of the interview airs tonight. Be sure to tune in so you can be among the first to be trolled, AGAIN.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, September 23rd 2022 at 12:46AM

Steve, did you see what Trump said, out of his own mouth, on the John Hannity show, Steve?

Steve Williams Friday, September 23rd 2022 at 9:17AM

I saw it Ron and with a little thought, I understood.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, September 23rd 2022 at 9:28AM

What was it that you understood about what Trump is saying, when he said: “ "If you're the President of the United States, you can declassify just by saying, 'It's declassified," even by thinking about it." What do you think. Do you believe that statement?

Steve Williams Friday, September 23rd 2022 at 7:21PM

The President is talking about intent Ron. His intent was to declassify all those documents and his intent was effected when he took the then declassified documents to Mar-a-Lago.

Just think about it Ron. Kim Jong-un shared top-secret information about his nuclear capabilities with President Trump, information he would never share with scairdy cat Obama.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, September 23rd 2022 at 11:50PM

So you are saying that it was Donald J Trump's intent to declassify all those documents, including the files marked "TOP SECRET," is that right Steve?

Steve Williams Monday, September 26th 2022 at 8:44AM

He said he declassified EVERYTHING Ron. That's just what Kash Patel and John Ratcliffe were tasked with and I believe him.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, September 26th 2022 at 9:15AM

Opinions about Patel differed among the dozen current and former senior officials who discussed his activities with me anonymously so that they could describe sensitive matters freely. One top Pentagon official saw Patel as a direct threat to lawful government and says he advised him of potential legal risks. But several others described him as an ambitious but clumsy bumbler. “Was this a Machiavellian master plan, or the Three Stooges?” WOW!!!

Steve Williams Monday, September 26th 2022 at 4:46PM

Have you ever seen Kash Patel on Fox Ron?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Monday, September 26th 2022 at 4:54PM

Yes, I have Steve, what does that have to do with the question I asked you? Let's try it again:

One top Pentagon official saw Patel as a direct threat to lawful government and says he advised him of potential legal risks. But several others described him as an ambitious but clumsy bumbler. “Was this a Machiavellian master plan, or the Three Stooges?” WOW!!!

Steve Williams Tuesday, September 27th 2022 at 2:07AM

If you've seen him Ron, then you know what you cut and pasted about him is false.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, September 27th 2022 at 11:15AM

Steve, what did I post that was not accurate? I see that you still have not answered my question yet, what is the matter Steve, is that question beyond your programming?

Steve Williams Tuesday, September 27th 2022 at 10:18PM

Why is the question in quotes Ron? If it's not your question, why should I answer an unknown questioner, someone else's question, because you can't come up with your own?

Patel is neither "a direct threat to lawful government," nor a "clumsy bumbler." If you had ever watched him on Fox you would know that Ron. You're a liar.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Tuesday, September 27th 2022 at 10:56PM

The Choices were Patel as a direct threat to lawful government and says he advised him of potential legal risks or several others described him as an ambitious but clumsy bumbler. These comments are coming from people who know Patel personly.

Now you ran away like a grown-ass man on fire from my question since things don't stay on your mind long at all. Steve, what did I post that was not accurate?

Are you having trouble over there? Why can't I get a direct answer out of you, do you forget or that question was too HOT for you to handle?

What did I lie about Steve?
