A Texas mother was brought to shock as she attended her daughter’s high school volleyball game on Friday, Sept. 2 and heard students chanting monkey noises at the Black athletes.

According to REVOLT, the mother recorded the students on her cell phone and posted the video on Twitter.

The mother, Lakeesha Kemp-Adams, continued sharing the experience in a series of follow-up tweets.

“My daughter’s team literally consists of black and hispanic girls, so you can clearly understand what they were facing,” she said. “Jordan’s Volleyball team literally has one black girl. Our girls were distraught and devastated to have to endure such hatred.”
