Voices: The reaction to Trump’s announcement wasn’t what he’d hoped — at all. What a shame
Opinion by Elise Seyfried -

Donald — suppose you gave a big speech announcing you were running for president, and nobody really cared? What if it was a speech that both your daughters skipped, and even your oldest son missed due to a “hunting trip”? A speech even your pals at Fox News cut away from, with other major networks airing instead programs like “Bachelor in Paradise”? And then what if the speech itself was so lacking in luster that Sarah Matthews, your own deputy press secretary, called it “one of the most low-energy, uninspiring speeches I’ve ever heard from Trump. Even the crowd seems bored. Not exactly what you want when announcing a presidential run”?

MSNBC didn't cover the speech - Alex Wagner pretended it didn't exist - but boy, Joe Scarborough and his little lap dog Mika couldn't shut up about it for 2 hours straight. Ron, that's how Trump KNOWS he wins.

Hell, Fox News was not glad to air that sad as speech Trump gave because they cut away from that BULL💩 Trump was giving as well. I wonder why?

Steve Williams Thursday, November 17th 2022 at 8:30AM

I was watching Hannity at the time and it annoyed me Ron. I picked up the remote and switched to C-SPAN. Problem solved. Why should I care if MSNBC wasn't covering the speech either. Fox is still 10x better.

Did you know that Trump and Rupert Murdoch are parting ways and you won't hear from Trump on FOX NEWS, less and less nowadays?

The paper said Trump believes Fox's strategy of shunning him is an effort in "effectively displacing him" from the news cycle and as de facto leader of the Republican Party.

The decision to shun Trump has been made at "the highest levels" of Fox's parent company, and is backed by its billionaire chairman, Rupert Murdoch, and his son, company CEO Lachlan Murdoch.

Both Republicans have said they have developed a strong distaste for Trump.

That is good news for Republicans and bad news for Trump.

Fox doesn't tell its anchors who they can and can't interview Ron. Any show that wants to interview Trump can get him if he agrees.

That man is the head of Fox News and can do what he wants at Fox News. he slow learners at the New York Post and Wall Street Journal editorial pages had a revelation on Friday. As if synchronized to sing the same tune at the same time by their owner, Rupert Murdoch, they cited the proceedings of the Jan. 6 Committee to conclude that Donald Trump had failed to uphold his oath to defend and protect the Constitution.

How could Murdoch, whose editorial pages and Fox News Channel defended Trump for the past six years, have suddenly turned on the former president so viciously? As I, the Jury’s detective Mike Hammer said to love interest Charlotte Manning when she asked the same question as he gut-shot her dead, “It was easy.”

Although Murdoch’s breakup dazed some members of the commentariat, it shouldn’t have. Murdoch has no friends. He has no loyalties. He has no principles. And never has. His support of politicians has always been transactional and extractive. Now entering the final days of his political career, Trump is expendable, making the Post’s and Journal’s twin discoveries in the same moment of Trump’s crimes against the Constitution a convenient cover story for the orange man.

In Short, Murdoch is finished with Trump and you won't see Trump on Fox News as much as we use to see him on Fox News anymore. Steve, i know that you are a die heart for Trump but today you are witnessing the downfall of Trump in real time.

Trump is secure at Fox News. You're speaking from ignorance Ron, because you never watch Fox News. You don't even know who Jesse Watters is.

Steve, did you believe that The decision to shun Trump has been made at "the highest levels" of Fox's parent company, and is backed by its billionaire chairman, Rupert Murdoch, and his son, company CEO Lachlan Murdoch.

Now if you and your son wanted to shun Trump at your company, what do you think would happen to Trump?

Don't run from this question Steve.

Steve Williams Thursday, November 17th 2022 at 7:38PM

What Murdoch does doesn't affect me Ron, not in the least. He only affects you. Wake up.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Thursday, November 17th 2022 at 8:15PM

If you are not hearing from Trump, your as- is affected and you know that to be a fact because you need to hear from that liar on a regular bases just to make your day. WOW!!!

Steve Williams Thursday, November 17th 2022 at 10:28PM

I can always hear from Trump, any time I want to. I don't need Murdoch. Go back to MSN Ron.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, November 18th 2022 at 4:58AM

You will not see Trump on Fox News like you use too. We are witnessing the down fall of Trump before our very eyes and I would say it’s about time.

Steve Williams Friday, November 18th 2022 at 5:12AM

Trump will be on Hannity as much as ever Ron. You just don't know Hannity if you think otherwise. Hannity would quit Fox if anyone dared tell him he couldn't have President Trump on his show. If you don't believe me just ask him.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, November 18th 2022 at 5:54AM

I am talking about billionaire chairman, Rupert Murdoch, and his son, company CEO Lachlan Murdoch and not one of there employees. No put yourself in the Murdochs place for a moment, do you think with all of your power, people are there to fulfill your wishes and your wants, Steve?

I hope that I am talking directly to you, Steve.

Steve Williams Friday, November 18th 2022 at 1:15PM

Ron, I know how companies work. As long as the Murdochs are making money, they allow their employees freedom.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, November 18th 2022 at 4:56PM

Who is Hannity's boss again Steve? Do you tell your boss what to do or is it the other way around?

Steve Williams Friday, November 18th 2022 at 6:50PM

It's both ways Ron.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, November 18th 2022 at 7:27PM

Fox News is run from the TOP to the BOTTOM like all American businesses are run, you know that don't you?

Steve Williams Friday, November 18th 2022 at 10:04PM

I know a little differently Ron. I made a couple million at one company. Think those at the top were the only ones that had a say? No Ron, they bent over backwards to keep me.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, November 18th 2022 at 10:17PM

Well, you know for a fact, that order to keep you, came from a point higher than yourself, higher in the chain of command, that order came from the TOP. Steve, did you take them up?

Steve Williams Saturday, November 19th 2022 at 4:05AM

Ron, I knew all the top people. The COO was Iranian. That's who I negotiated the stock deal with. He never told me how to do my job. He never had to.
