Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and television host Tamar Braxton rose to fame as a cast member on WE TV's Braxton Family Values, a reality show featuring her sisters in 2011. She was born on March 17, 1977, in Severn, Maryland.

Before her reality television show, Braxton started out in the recording industry as a member of the Braxtons with her sisters. The group was dropped from Arista in the early 1990s, and she eventually sung backup for Toni Braxton after she signed to LaFace Records.
