Democrats v. Republicans or Blacks v. Whites?

Woo! That last sentence is really the issue and the media is trying to cover it up, if you ask me. The media is trying to give white democrates the "out" they need to bow out gracefully. What else could it be. Obama has did everything he needed to do. He did such a great job, that black people are suspicious of his motives.

The Democrats who decide to vote for John McCain are not ready for a black president, which I think we all knew deep inside, but hopefully "Black People" sre ready enough to do their part in making this happen.

Mister, politicians are basically the same--democrat or republican. Wasn't the Republican party the one that freed the slaves? And the democrats wanted to hold on to the ways of the South. I believe the party thing is meaningless. They're all rich white folks (Obama is the only black in the Senate) who care about their own interests, not ours. This political game is tough because either way, it doesn't really benefit us on a national scale.

I have been an Independant since my legal age to vote. I always felt fishy about both parties thats why I didn't select any one of them. Now that I am in my 30's I am glad I did. At the time I choose Independant because I wantd to be able choose from either Democrate or Republican but to be honest I think I always pick the Democrate. So I just I'm a Democrate in wolves clothing. :)

MJ, that has been the case for me for the Presidential races, but I have been a little more diverse on the local level however.

Let be real here. This mass exodus of die-hard Democrats is directly linked to Barack Obama's skin color. White America has never atoned for its crimes against humanity; therefore, it would rather place one of their own in office than have a black man force their hand.

If an apology to black Americans and other persons of color is forthcoming, I would rather it come after Senator Obama is out of office. This apology would seem insincere if it was issued by a black man.

Absolutely. Some white people do not think that a black person is capable of that kind of position. The color of Obama's skin is what holds him back in many red states. People are still brainwashed in believeing the rumors about blacks as being inferior, when in fact it was white people that built the negative images of blacks that never seems 2 subside, and I wonder why? It's almost like it doesn't matter how educated we are, how Christian we are or how great our reputation is. Because when it comes down 2 it only 1 thing matters, the color of our skin.

Karen, as a white person on this website. I will answer your question as I see it. I see it as it is true. White people aren't ready to see a Black President. We can't get a white president to do his job. I personally don't know who I am voting for. I would love to see someone different (even if it means race) in the white house). Let the black president try. He can't do any worse than the President we have now. My biggest fear, is that someone will try to assinate him. That is the last thing I want for Obama and his family. Obama has changes in view. I like most of what Obama wants. Then on the other side, a hear a lot of blacks (I am not saying anyone of this forum) say that if Obama doesn't get elected, then the blacks are going to assinate McCain. Either way, I don't know whats going to happen.

Wow...a lot has been said. Here is where I stand. Democrats / Republican are simply code words to define the current power structure. Honestly if we really were to do some simple examination, we'd realize that the privilege of voting has been manipulated over time maintain a basic balance of power. Neither side really benefits us. It is our job to learn and bring the water back to the land. Now don't mistake that for a reason to not participate. You must. That is the only way you learn work within and move outside. Is this a race issue? Yes, but isn't everything? The entire race is about something completely bigger than what is being discussed. Notice how many states reverted back to closed primary voting THIS election season. Notice how not one single issue pertaining to civil liberties have been given any attention by either candidate. Are we really ready for this ride?

I think its obvious that this is about race. We all know that Obama is the best choice for the white house and McCain would do more harm than a little bit. So many people have done everything they can to make Obama drop from the race. Whenever it is election time they always try to get the"black vote" no matter its republican or democrat. For example, John McCain shook hands with Young Jeezy and now Jeezy has broadcasted he will be voting for McCain because he shook his hand like a man. What kind of of crap is that? I think no matter what you do or who you are if you are a black person, white people will always have a problem with it.

I've been clear on this topic from the outset. There's no way in hell tens of millions of white people are planning to vote for Obama in November. They may talk a good game, but It'll never happen. On the flip side, you might think that Black Republicans who publicly endorse McCain might go in the booth and secretly cast their pathetic weasel vote for
the black guy' (just on G.P...ya know), but it'll never happen. I'll believe it when I see it, and I still ain't seen it. Just like the white people on this thread have made clear. There is no bigger group of haters and oppressors and snakes on the globe than Europeans and their descendents. You trust them at your own peril.

I look at the matter of skin color this way and because of the White women saying that they will vote for MCcain because Hillary was not chosen for VP. John MCcain:
1. Voted against women being able to get birth control in the same manner that men got viagra.
2. voted against women getting retroactive equal pay for equal work as men.
3. voted against children who saw their mother's abuse getting truma emergancy care.

It is my belief that voting for MCcain over Obama(as there are only two going to be on the November ballot)has more to do with Obama's skin is the color of his father's and not that of his mother's...what about you out there in the Black community....And let us not forget these are die hard Hillary supporters refusing to follow her in voting for Obama...get my point...??????!!!!!!!??????

Me, I will do a write in vote of Ron Paul on my ballot in November. This is because I vote my conscious of who best represents me along with putting this counrty's needs first with my one vote.

Ron Paul was the only one in any of these campaigns to talk openly and honestly about 'this empire will fall, because it can no longer sustain its own self". I can not forget/deny that this man is what I want representing me, my family, friends and most of all America.

It is my duty to vote my own conscious and as I always have , I always will do. And, I have never voted for a Republican president as I have never been in agreement with one before Ron Paul! If Ron Paul was a Democrat or Green pary, I would be doing the same thing.

I reject any form of slave mentality or even going to heaven where I will have to go along to get along, be valued by anyone to help them be happy living their life trying to run a guilt trip on me!!!!

Karen, for me it was the White female becoming the "minority" by way of Affirmative Action that got those White females in Congress and on the Supreme courts. Before and after Affirmative Action there has been only one Black male on the Supreme Court as the minority.

I believe that there was more /effective Black males 'power' in Congress during reconstruction that there is today. Plus I believe that only an Oprah or a major movie star or a Michael Jordan be able to acutally count in the Republican party or a Ward Connerly who dids not see the being used to say things that the Whites can not say an remain in the party. Now do you say who was the person that got Affirmative Action out of California?Me, I say thank him for this as now black students in college here can not be seen as failuars who are just being kept there to fullfill a quota in this state.

But, Ward Connely does not in a sense have a race or a political party to fully accept him in this state any more.And, for this I do feel sorry for him.

Let us all in the Black community stop and take time to ask our own selves these two questions.

1. How long has Obama been in the White house causing this economic and war and political distruction on America, and any place you can nome that does not want the American $?

2. Then ask yourselves who is the American government(is it those with the one vote) or is Obama going to be the American government dictator starting in January 09 replacing wannabe Dictator G.W. Bush?

Karen, the only way that we as a race of people can really see what the Republican party is like and how they use/abuse our people or not is to do research pro and con and the only way we will be able to accomplish this is to get at it, like yesterday!!!! The best way to do this is to move on beyond media talking heads playing on our emotional out bursts on cue and start working as we did i n the 60s. In the 60s we were taught to make it better for our grand children. Me then at the age of 16 I could not fully understnad what this meant, I do now. The work of our generation back then is just begining to help us for future therefore the more I watch your generation take action, I know that all will be well;if not today then for your grand children.Please take note that my generation are still at the "I never thought I would see a black man in Barack's position in this life time". While at the same time we have worked a life time to get to this point!!!
