Candidates' NRA ratings: a telling reflection of reactions to San Bernardino shooting http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/de...

Republicans pray to God for blessings for the family members who's people were killed or injured in the San Bernardino shooting, they have the power to do something but won't.

They have the power to do the will of the people by way of background checks but won't do that neither.

A person on the watch list can't board an airplane in this country but yet that same person can go and buy an AK-47 military style weapon at any gun show but the republican leadership won’t lift a finger to change that law because of the power of the NRA. The NRA has blood on their hands, American Blood but yet the Republican Party wants to offer you prayers and still have that power to change that law but won’t.

Now just today the top news: FBI is looking for a connection to terrorism.

Looking for what connection to terrorism?

Ted Cruz

Our prayers are with the victims, their families, and the first responders in San Bernardino who willingly go into harm’s way to save others

“All of us are deeply concerned that this is yet another manifestation of terrorism, radical Islamic terrorism here at home,” Cruz said at a meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition on Thursday.

“Coming on the wake of the terror attack in Paris, this horrific murder underscores that we are at a time of war,” he added. “Whether or not the current administration realizes it or is willing to acknowledge it, our enemies are at war with us.”

The President has the power to do something but he's been dragging his feet all this time, and even in the face of this first ISIS attack on U.S. soil, continues to drag his feet.

Both houses in Washington are controlled by Republicans, have you seen any laws that will close the gun show loopholes or universal background checks yet?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Friday, December 4th 2015 at 5:01PM

Steve,

Republicans pray to God for blessings for the family members who's people were killed or injured in the San Bernardino shooting, they have the power to do something simple like universal background checks or Close the gun show loophole but they won't, WHY?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, December 5th 2015 at 5:26PM

So, you are saying since a terrorist can't being there weapons with them, once they get here, they can buy all they need to carry out there mission by going a gun show. WOW!!!

Universal Background checks are not common sense is that what you are saying?

Steve Williams Saturday, December 5th 2015 at 6:36PM

We already have instant background checks. It works fine.

Dea. Ron Gray Sr. Saturday, December 5th 2015 at 10:22PM

Steven,

Universal back ground checks in all 50 states, is different from instant.

Steve Williams Sunday, December 6th 2015 at 4:16AM

The National Instant Background Check System is in all 50 states. There is no gun show loophole. I went to a gun show to check for myself and you can too Ron. Or you can continue to believe the lies of the media and the President.

As much a part of American tradition as baseball and apple pie, gun shows provide firearms retailers an opportunity to broaden their business while providing gun owners opportunities to make purchases at discounted prices.

Gun shows also serve another purpose: they allow private gun owners wishing to sell or trade a firearm access to large numbers of potential buyers and traders. In most states, those gun transfers are not regulated by law, a move that is praised by gun rights defenders and decried by gun control advocates who say the “loophole” allows persons who would not be able to pass a background check to illegally obtain firearms.

Het Steven, did you notice the first paragraph> "Known as the "gun show loophole," most states do not require background checks for firearms purchased at gun shows from private individuals -- federal law only requires licensed dealers to conduct checks."
